The Traits you choose will help to determine the Whims your Sim gets. If you choose Family Oriented, you'll get more Whims for interacting with your Family. With Mean or Evil, you may have Whims to behave rudely to other Sims. Sims with Ambitious may get bit Whims for getting Promoted. A Sim will also get Whims based on what they've done recently - so if you go to level a certain Skill, you'll start getting Whims for that Skill. Being affected by certain Emotions also plays a role - if a Sim is tense, they may want to vent to another Sim.

1) There is a Re-traiting potion in the rewards shop.
2) If you don't have enough satisfaction points, just use the mod that gives the sim satisfaction points needed for the Re-traiting potion.
3) Change the trait you don't want to the trait you wanted.
That way, I'm pretty sure it won't bug like it does when you directly use a mod.
If this works, you're welcome!
2) Go to the rewards store
3) Go into potions
4) Buy the re-traiting potion
5) Drink and re-trait!
This potion leaves behind no other traits you had before and is completely installed with the original sims game!

For the first time since I found Carl's guide in the early days of S3, some of the trait info isn't matching game behavior.I don't know if ea changed the traits or notes got mistyped. What I encountered in game was that slob can't rummage in the trash, only glutton can.My game is vanilla, no mods or cc, base + holiday pack only on win 7.
I placed 5 sims on a lot with nothing other than the trash can and the mailbox. Each sim had a mix of the following traits: insane, slob, loves the outdoors, and genius; and one sim had the trait combo insane, loves the outdoors, and glutton. The one sim with the trait glutton was the only sim who could rummage in the trash can.(Testing trait combo's for a homeless sim challenge. ;) )
and I changed it to AMBITIOUS but I'm still getting moodlets from NONCOMMITTAL any idea on how to correct?
