The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Cheats
Changing Policies and Eco Footprint Scores
Cheats for The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle are found below. Auroras are present when a neighborhood has a solid green footprint.
One of the big things in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle is its Eco Footprint and Neighborhood Action Policies that go hand in hand. With cheats, it's possible to enable or repeal any policy you don't like, or set the current eco footprint of the neighborhood. Let's learn how to cheat in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle!
Eco Footprint is a new system that tracks neighborhood pollution in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack
This is a big one for setting atmosphere. Hit Control + Shift + C and type TestingCheats On. From there, you can now type Eco_Footprint.Set_Eco_Footprint_State # - there are three states you can put here: 0 is for Green, 1 is for Neutral, or 3 is Industrial. So Eco_Footprint.Set_Eco_Footprint_State 0 will bring the neighborhood to a green eco state. If you want to play in a dirty world, set it to 2 for Industrial but remember this may not make the trash appear.
I feel there is some possibility of this cheat changing for someone as it was originally meant to be Green, Neutral and Industrial. You can try using Green for the state # instead, if it fails to work but it Should continue to work this way based upon what I'm seeing in the game code.
Cheat to Increase Influence
Influence is used to "vote" - you spend it to vote so it feels like a currency. You can get 15 influence each time you shift-click the voting board and pick, "Give Influence". This requires TestingCheats On like all shift-click based cheats.

Cheats for The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle are found below. Auroras are present when a neighborhood has a solid green footprint.
This one is very easy. Use Control + Shift + C and type TestingCheats On. Now you can head to the voting board or use your mailbox to change Action Plans. Note there is one kind for Neighborhood Action Plan Board and the other type are found on Community Spaces (these are for shared community lots). You need the first kind, for NAPs. Shift click the board or your mailbox and you'll be shown a list of all neighborhood action plans and can enact them there. It should be possible to repeal them as well, but this will not be the case at first when none are active. Click the NAP board to learn what plans are active at a given time. If none are listed up top outside the voting area, none are in effect.
Cheat to Change Community Spaces
As mentioned above, there are two types of voting boards. For this second kind, you need to travel to a community lot. From there, you can force the lot to change to any type you like - either Marketplace, Community Garden, or Maker Space. You can also return it to its default state. Shift click the board and pick the type you like. It's also worth noting that you can build here, and the build mode lets you change between the lot types so you can see what it would look like if set as a Marketplace, then if, through gameplay, you vote for Marketplace and it is enacted, the Market will be the one you designed. They just require certain types of objects depending on the configuration.
Get Bits and Pieces for Fabrication
Bits and Pieces are a new form of crafting material in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle
In order to do this you need a Fabrication machine, which costs $1,800 Simoleons. You can then shift-click it with testingcheats on to be given 50 bits and pieces each time you select, "Give Bits and Pieces". None of the other crafting stations allow you to do this.
Cheat to Add (or Remove) Eco-Lifestyle Traits
You can certainly live off dumpster diving, if you want to.
There are several traits you can give your Sims. A couple are rewards for completing the Green Technician or Civic Planner Careers (both of which stem from Civil Designer). Four additional traits are CAS traits, but people do enjoy going beyond the 3 we are strangely limited to. You can remove traits with Traits.Remove_Trait Traitname, just like below. See a full list of my Trait Cheats in The Sims 4.
Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_Freegan - Freegan CAS Trait
Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_GreenFiend - Green Fiend CAS Trait
Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_Maker - Maker CAS Trait
Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_RecycleDisciple - Recycle Disciple CAS Trait
Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_ChampionOfThePeople - Civil Designer Career Reward
Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_EcoEngineer - Green Technician Career Reward
There's a somewhat interesting cheat when you shift-click your Sim or an NPC. You can 'Set NPC Eco Behaviors' which I think gives a hidden trait that is used to help that Sim decide what they'll do. NPCs can have Entrepreneur, Eco Master, or Master Crafter hidden traits. It's probably more for autonomy than anything - meaning it's not something that will help you in a big way - but it is handy for making a Sim act like they should if you create a custom Sim and want them to be part of your town and fill the role you had in mind for them.
Juice Fizzing and Fabrication
Fabrication is a new skill in Eco Lifestyle and lets you craft furniture for your Sim's house
The cheats for these two Sims 4 skills is entirely predictable. Use stats.set_skill_level minor_juicefizzing 5 or stats.set_skill_level major_fabrication 10 to max out the skill. Further, you may wish to cheat materials. For juice fizzing, I'd probably use bb.showhiddenobjects and buy some rare fruit to grow because it's impractical to buy them for every 6 pack you make. For fabrication, I'd use the cheat materials ability on this page.
Career Cheats for Eco Lifestyle
There are two new careers you can cheat as well, in Eco Lifestyle. First is the harder one: careers.promote adult_freelancer_agency_maker - this one will promote ou in the Freelance Maker career, which focuses on candle making, fabrication, and woodworking. The other is the new Civil Designer. This one is a simple Careers.Promote CivilDesigner.

Yes, if you cheat the eco footprint it will basically drift back to its original starting point. So you'll need to either keep cheating it or make changes to the surrounding lots.
I can't get the Eco Footprint Cheat to work in my game at all.
Eco_Footprint.Set_Eco_Footprint_State 0
Not working by typing it as above, nor if typed all in lowercase letters. I even tried typing in Green but when I did, got an error message that Green was not the right integer. It said the code is either: GREEN, NEUTRAL or INDUSTRIAL with a base of 10.
By copying and pasting those 2 cheats in one after the other while loaded into your Sim lot with your game paused - your lot and so probably your neighborhood will go Green
So the faux meat thing was tricky to figure out... You have to get the verticle garden and then click on it and click "grow cruelty free meat" (I also suggest upgrading it). The unfortunate thing is that is takes a couple days to grow, and you only get one meatcube from it (rather than 10 harvestables)... Speaking of harvestables- if you use the verticle garden then you will only get 7 harvestables, as opposed to the (normal) 10 (if you have seasons installed then the amount is even lower).
I also wondered if there was a cheat for that... couldn't find the item in Build/Buy even when using the cheat to unlock career items... I was trying to have a Freegan storyline where they furnish their home only with dumpster items so I don't want to play the career in this save, because that's Capitalism and this Sim is super against it...
Thanks for the comprehensive information! My game post installation of update and eco living won't let me attend events I'm invited to over the phone, I click the accept or the yes world equivilent and it doesnt then pop up to travel to said location :(
An alternative way to get bits and pieces is to shift-click your Sim (with testingcheats on of course) and then select the "Give Bucks..." option followed by selecting either "Recycle Bits" or "Recycle Pieces", depending on which resource you want.
Doing it this way will instead give your household 500 resources of the chosen type instead of the 50 given by the fabrication machine.
I've played around with this and does look as though you can change the appearance of the apartment even if you have both the eco lifestyle options turned off. Turn on testingcheats, right click on the letter box or community board, select Instant Neighbourhood Action Plan (cheat) and then select Modern Development in ... In Grims Quarry the playable apartment building along with all the other apartment block and individual houses on that block will change immediately while in Conifer Station just the playable apartment building change. Whether all the other changes that come with Modern Development will occur over time I don't know.
Is there a way to remove the traits that seem to come from the NAPs that's making my sims cook cake constantly or have 60 and still counting balls of clay in each of their inventory's
Only thing to do is disable NPC voting in Game Options then load into households where NAPs have been enacted and use cheats to instantly repeal them. Mark these households as unplayed when you go back to play your normal active family.
Load up one of the households that lives there and then enact the cheat via a voting board or their mailbox. Remember to mark them as unplayed when you go back to your normal active household.
With testingcheats on, shift-click the juice fizzing machine. There's options for juice ingredients, kombucha ingredients, and suspicious ingredients. Clicking one of those will give you 10 each of ALL plants in that category! Even really rare stuff like UFO or Death Flowers.
You can also shift click on your sim and go to 'give bucks' which then allows you to give your sim bits and pieces if you need if for something other than fabrication.
Is there a cheat to improve the quality of municipal concept blueprint? Mine are always poor quality even after I modify them. Don't know if it's a bug or if I'm just doing something wrong. Even if you don't have a cheat to improve their quality, any tips you can give me so that my municipal concept blueprint doesn't remain poor quality would be appreciated.
As it says in the Guide above: "This one is very easy. Use Control + Shift + C and type TestingCheats On. Now you can head to the voting board or use your mailbox to change Action Plans. "
I got roaches in my trash can and I can't get rid of them. I've heard about hiring a repairman to get rid of roaches, but I tried it and it doesn't work. Any other ideas?
where can you find the Fabrication Machine? i cant find it anywhere.....
Admin:
You can always use the search function to search by name for any item or by pack for all the items that came with a specific pack.. Fabrication machine is in the skills items
You can always revert your neighborhood through game play by adding industrial items, if you add enough the neighborhood will become polluted again and trash will show but you will lose the other initiatives.
my Sim got a prank call about inheritance money. I accepted the Money! Money! Money! option for the inheritance thing. But after I left the game and came back, the buff was gone. does anyone know how to get it back? i miss when the sims had timed objectives like this. i really love to spice up my game.
after some research i learned that its from this pack

I have much more to come, since you can actually write a few guides about this pack!
Calling all Blender Users
Blender has been incredibly useful in video production, so I made my own Physics and Simulation Improvement Addon that lumps a ton of unique tools into one compact interface.
Sims 4 Snowy Escape
The Sims 4 Snowy Escape launches November 13, 2020 and my coverage has started. Until I get my review ready, you can learn about the following:
There is a new platform tool in The Sims 4. There's also a new Sentiments system, but it'll take some time to create a guide to that. Players can also use rental lots in any world now by changing lot types of builds in manage worlds.
Best Mods in Sims 4
I've created a massive List of The Best Mods in The Sims 4 that should be very helpful to new players and those who have not yet explored modding and how much it can do for your gameplay.
Readers who use adblock or those who'd like to thank me for my efforts can now pledge $1/$5 monthly via Patreon. This helps a lot with server costs and provides some stability for my business.
I now have a guide page to Tiny Living Stuff where you can learn about Murphy Beds, the new death, as well as the lot bonuses you'll receive if you manage to keep the size of your lot down with this new pack's Tiny Home Lot Type.
Let's Play Playlist
New I now have a guide to Making Super Sims in The Sims 4. Look for a text version within the next 72h. It won't have THAT much more info but it will help out as a checklist.
This was inspired by a series, "Let's Play a Super Sim" in which I start at toddler and gradually take on the major bonuses. Here's a link to each part for people who are interested. You can also see the Let's Play as a Playlist on Youtube.
The Sims 4 Discover University has been announced for November 15 for PC/Mac and December 17 for Xbox and Playstation 4 consoles. Click to learn more about the pack, see my summary of the livestream or read our FAQs below.

Having issues with the Eco footprint cheat. Worked for the first couple lots, and then stopped?
Strange.
Hi Dylanimal:
Can you share w/me how you typed in the Eco Footprint cheat to get it to work?
I haven't been able to get it to work in any lot or neighborhood so far.
Thanks!
testingcheats on
Eco_Footprint.Set_Eco_Footprint_State 0
I noticed that it only stays green for 1 sim day, and then resets back to neutral.
Yes, if you cheat the eco footprint it will basically drift back to its original starting point. So you'll need to either keep cheating it or make changes to the surrounding lots.
Juice Fizzing needs “minor_” before it for the cheat.. “minor_juicefizzing 10”. Then Fabrication requires “major_” before it
tyvm, there is always a lot of pressure to get these guide pages out after a new pack releases. Mistakes happen!
What is the cheat code for influence points for xbox one????
I can't get the Eco Footprint Cheat to work in my game at all.

YAY! It worked now after doing exactly how you said to w/doing it immediately after typing in "Testing Cheats On"! So happy now and Thanks So Much!

Any word on how to get the machine that cleans the air and the burnt items found in dumpsters?
It is part of the new career that came with the pack, Civil Designer.
In order to get the vacuum the cheaty way, enable testingcheats and bb.showhiddenobjects, then search for "Eco-Matic Smog Vacuum".
Hope this helps.
Industrial is 2 not 3 for the cheats!
How do we get more influence points on an xbox...Can't shift and click
X + O on PS4 and A + B on Xbox One counts as shift-clicking. Hope this helps!
Carl

Check for any mods you might be using that need updating. Many mods did.

That's awesome, because I keep ending up with thousands of pieces and not very many bits.
Is there a cheat to change the apartment appearance that you normally do via NAP? I have disabled NAP but want the good looking apartments.
I don't think so, you can cheat the NAP but can't have the modern looking overlay without the NAP
I've played around with this and does look as though you can change the appearance of the apartment even if you have both the eco lifestyle options turned off. Turn on testingcheats, right click on the letter box or community board, select Instant Neighbourhood Action Plan (cheat) and then select Modern Development in ... Yes that cheat changes the entire neighborhood so basically enacts the NAP via cheats so the player doesn't have to vote.
cheats quick working after i bought and installed the sims 4 eco lifetyle any suggestiosn to make them work again?
Try a Game Repair, usually that fixes glitches like this.
How do you change a community NAP or community space in a neighborhood that isn't your own?
Load up one of the households that lives there and then enact the cheat via a voting board or their mailbox. Remember to mark them as unplayed when you go back to your normal active household.
With testingcheats on, shift-click the juice fizzing machine. There's options for juice ingredients, kombucha ingredients, and suspicious ingredients. Clicking one of those will give you 10 each of ALL plants in that category! Even really rare stuff like UFO or Death Flowers.
I don't have that option, are you using some mods maybe?
Maybe it's because I have debug cheats enabled through MCCC? Since you do that once and forget about it, I'd forgotten about it.
Not sure, I run through every new pack with no CC and no mods and I definitely do not have that option on the machine with just vanilla cheats.
Anyone know how to change the apartments to the eco look?
By voting or cheating in the Modern Development and Green Initiative NAP's NAP's Guide
You can also shift click on your sim and go to 'give bucks' which then allows you to give your sim bits and pieces if you need if for something other than fabrication.

I got roaches in my trash can and I can't get rid of them. I've heard about hiring a repairman to get rid of roaches, but I tried it and it doesn't work. Any other ideas?
Have your Sim stomp them repeatedly until it succeeds.
where can you find the Fabrication Machine? i cant find it anywhere.....
You can always use the search function to search by name for any item or by pack for all the items that came with a specific pack.. Fabrication machine is in the skills items
how do you get rid of NAPs? like if i wanted to remove free love etc
Can I make the neighborhood dirty and filled with trash after I do the modern development and greener initiatives NAP?
You can always revert your neighborhood through game play by adding industrial items, if you add enough the neighborhood will become polluted again and trash will show but you will lose the other initiatives.
im tired of my power being turned off every other day how do i get this to stop?
my Sim got a prank call about inheritance money. I accepted the Money! Money! Money! option for the inheritance thing.
