Language and Literature Description: Since the invention of the written word, the goal to capture information, emotion, and stories for future generations has been a noble one. The Language & Literature degree continues this tradition, with a focus on building the charisma, research & debate, and writing skills.
Available at School: Britechester
Requirements: Being accepted into one of the two schools for a distinguished degree in Language and Literature is not guaranteed, but having the following skills and factors in your favor will make it more likely. You begin with a 5/20 chance. This is multiplied by:

Additionally, Sims can flaunt fame for a x2 multiplier (but will have it dropped to 0.25 on failure). Sims who donate can also see a big multiplier of x16, but a failure there is the worst of the bunch (0.125). Having a multiplier less than 1 is dropping the score a lot.
Ultimately, your final score will determine if you are accepted in to a distinguised program. There is a non-distinguished version of every degree in Discover University. If you fail to get into a distinguished program, you can take the regular version at the other school. There are caveats, so see the degrees guide for more detailed information. It also explains the difference between with and without honors.
A degree in Language and Literature will have to start higher in the following careers. You'll also receive a signing bonus.

Distinguished Degrees offer higher starting bonuses, better starting positions in careers and are further amplified if you can manage to do so with honors (having a greater than 3.9 GPA):

You can cheat yourself a Distinguished Language and Literature Degree by using the traits.equip_trait traitname cheat. Here are the ones you need for this degree. Click my guide to cheating in Discover University to learn more.

The degree cheats don’t seem to be working
They are working for me but I did have some issue in a different save. So try going into Manage Worlds and then back to playing your household and now see if the cheats are working. Remember the degree shows up in a small thin panel just above the sims traits panel.
After I graduated. I moved to a house and went and applied as a writer. But I'm still lvl 1 even after i graduated with honors.
my Sims married degreed Sims that for some reason I didn’t have the appropriate career levels... used the cheats for the Sims to catch them up
I have young adult sim (so no High School) at level 8 for ale Adobe Skills nad still cant get in. Wth?
You will need to have your Sim gain a few levels in some other skills. Try Charisma,and Research and Debate. Even just getting to level 2 should be enough to be accepted.
