The Law Career lets you choose between becoming a Judge or Private Attorney.
Discover University brings the Law Career to The Sims 4, with both Private Attorney and Judicial branches you can select. What's the difference? Let's find out. This guide will be to the point as there are not many major rewards for either of these careers.
How to: Law Career Cheats
Press Control + Shift + C then type testingcheats on and press enter. You can now get promotions with careers.promote law - you can also see all Career Cheats or visit a full list of Cheats in The Sims 4.
The Law Career allows your Sim to work from home, meaning they will not have to go into work at all if you do not want. Promotions and rewards come a bit later, but the Sim's time is freed. Owning a Research Computer is highly recommended for this career, because not only do you need to make rulings if you're going to be a judge, but you must also Pass the Law Exam at rank 4.
Studying at the University may be helpful as there are Research Computers you can use to level the Research and Debate skill, which is used heavily in this career. It's also necessary to use this type of computer to complete the Research Case Law tasks for the Private Attorney. This is the one weird thing about the career, in that you need to use two types of computer to complete the interactions. If it's not on one under the career's menu, it's on the other. "Research" is definitely a sign it needs to be done on the research machine.

Career rewards for the Law Career come primarily from levels 1-7. You'll get this bookcase, desk, and lawyer-y chair.
As mentioned before, you've got to pass the Law Exam in order to rank up past the fourth level. This is done on any computer, just like the File Court Documents interaction. Unfortunately, the law exam doesn't seem to be very deep. I do not know if it's even possible to fail it. All in all, you'll need to rank up the Research and Debate Skill while also working on Logic and Charisma in the later levels.

Judges in The Sims 4 get some nice robes, but most rewards come from early in the career before the branch.
The Judge branch of the Law Career requires you to invest more into Logic. A computer will be needed to Make Rulings. You get some abilities like Guest Speak that may help you make a little extra income. While you can go to the University to do it, you can also find this option during weekdays on the phone (think during business hours). I earned $750 doing this.

The Private Attorney gets a slick suit, but not much else. Both branches get the scales in the background.
The Private Attorney Branch of the Law Career requires your Sim to grow more Charismatic, in order to take on new clients and offer them representation. Building just a little friendship will help with this, and your clients are tracked so you'll need to work with new Sims. Overall its rewards are the same as the Judge.
I'll repeat it here - if you need to Research Case Law for a work at home task, you can do this from the research machines at the University or buy one of your own for $12,000.

Is the wage amount correct for Judge, level 10? As listed, it's $15 less per hour, than level 9. Other sites I've checked list it as $425/hr.
I think you're right, Josette. $205/hr is much too low. The sim I'm playing now just reached level 10 and she's getting paid $589/hr, but she has a distinguished degree in History with honors which boosts her pay by about 1.4. That would make the normal pay around $420/hr.
Judge level 9 only requires 6 Logic skill for the promotion requirement. Probably just a typo, but 3 extra levels at the top of the skill is a lot.

Hey! I'm currently progressing through this career and thought I'd note that your earnings increase for each successful "client" you obtain. I'm not sure on the exact figures (at low level it was increasing by $1 per hour every two or three clients) but it seems to be making a significant difference later on.
This is very helpful! I’ve recently trying to discover this whole new job branches when I got University. Which one is simpler to play as, a Judge or a Private Attorney?
I want to note that "offer legal representation" when you don't work from home is nearly impossible to complete- it takes about 4 successful offers to get 25% completion, meaning you end up spending all night after work tracking down 16 people to talk to who aren't already your clients.
I hope we still get promoted even if we don't get 100% on offering legal rep.
There is no problem doing it once per promotions even if it takea 16 yes's... However starting again to 0 every day before the promotions is nearly impossible running everywhere in the city to get another 16 yes's before 9 a.m.... EA should fix this asap it's really frustrating

For Private Attorney branch, you need Language & Literature degree
Hi, just letting you know - it is possible to fail it, came here to see what I did wrong, I have level 1 logic skill and the rest of skills on level 5+, so it must be that :)
