Improving Sims 4: The past month, I've spent every day tinkering The Sims 4, making quality of life improvements, gameplay changes, and new difficulty settings for the game. If you'd like to learn more about my project, visit the post on Patreon where you can download it now.
The Sims 4's Aspirations are life goals that Sims may select, allowing them to complete a checklist of objectives to earn Satisfaction that may be spent toward Rewards. Unlike TS3's Lifetime Wishes, you may change your Aspiration at any time by pressing 'G' and going to the menu. Completing an Aspiration earns your Sim a related Reward Trait, and allows them to select another Aspiration from any category. Your first Aspiration choice matters in that your first Bonus Trait will not change after switching to a new Aspiration.
The following list's goal is to help you select Aspirations by providing knowledge of what you have to do in each. If, for example, you were expected to master a Skill you didn't want to, have many friends, or join a Career, it would help you to avoid selecting that. You may also prioritize certain Reward Traits first to help you complete another Aspiration later on.
Two things of note: Aspirations Milestones with the same name will be cleared on any Aspiration that shares those same objectives, meaning you will have a head start on completing those other Aspirations (usually in the same category) but not get the chance to get the Satisfaction twice. Also, those Aspiration Objectives that state 'Become an Adult' always give 0 and are meant to be barriers to Children/Teens from completing those Aspirations. They can get to the point that the Adulthood requirement appears.
Most DLC comes with Aspirations that tie in with the theme of the pack. For example, Vampires allows Sims to become a Master Vampire. The Parenthood Game Pack offers Sims the opportunity to become a Super Parent via the Parenting Skill and attain the Role Model Reward Trait. Look for parentheses next to the name of the Aspiration to tell you if that life goal is only available with a game or expansion pack. If nothing's present, the aspiration is available to all players with the Sims 4 base game.

For now, there is only one Athletic Aspiration, but more may be added later when we get Expansions. Players who choose an Athletic Aspiration will get the High Metabolism Bonus Trait, which helps Sims stay in shape and get muscular more quickly than other Sims.

Children do not get Bonus Traits for selecting from Aspiration categories, but do get the chance to earn Reward Traits that help them significantly as Teenagers and Adults. Like Adults, Children are able to select a new Aspiration after having completed one, if they are able to do so before aging up. It is possible to complete multiple Children's Aspirations for your child if you are playing on a longer lifespan game.

When my sim Lottie Calaway had the soulmate asparation, I had to quit it because of this glitch. If you want to keep a romantic asparation, I recommend Serial Romantic or Big Happy Family
I am going to answer your two questions you asked!
I belive in the latest patch up, the Soulmate was edited, as I managed to complete it. However, Successful Linage still seems to be glitched on my machine.
Of corse I don't know what country you are in, because America seems to have less glitches than countries like Canada, Britain and Australia. I'm in Canada, so maybe it is fixed in America and not in Canada.

So your sim will be able to write a skill book in writing as your sim has skill points in writing.
Clearing Cache filesIf the aspiration requirements still are not completing you may need to use cheats.
Select the child sim then turn on 'testingcheats on' and type aspirations.complete_current_milestone
This will complete the requirements for that sim and only the current requirements showing in the aspiration window.
This can be with any fish, even a guppy. All your sim has to do is catch a larger guppy than s/he has caught before.
For example: It also isn't about which fish your sim caught last. Your sim might catch a guppy, a goldfish, a bass, a angelfish and then another guppy. If the second guppy is larger than the first, the whim will complete. If it is not... then your sim will have to keep fishing until they catch a bigger goldfish, bass, angelfish or guppy.
Que. Do the milestones of aspirations change with each expansion pack??
Eg. The writer aspiration level one wanted me to
a) overcome writer's block in base game
b) read a book at the library after outdoor retreat
c) write for one hour when inspired after get to work...
Same for many other aspirations like freelance botanist or painter or whiz kid.. These are not major changes but still... Also the career requirements changed...Now for the problem..
For some aspirations I finishing the task before the game asks for it doesn't seem to work...
Now I understand this in "make a friend" or "complete a painting" kinds of requirements....
But skill levels and grades and careers also???
While doing whiz kid aspiration my child sim was on 1/3 level when he got grade A in school. Now after getting on 2/3 level aspiration wants him to get grade A. Now how am I supposed to again get A grade??
Same in computer whiz...
My sim is level 7 tech guru career nd my aspiration want him to be level 5...
This never happened in base game...
Is this a bug in expansion??
And yes... there are quite a few game playing bugs around milestones completing as well as some milestones require them to be actively selected when your sim does the 'certain thing'. It's designed this way for game play as sometimes you might want your sim to paint (for example) but not to complete the aspiration so if your sim paints a masterpiece and does not have the painting aspiration actively selected, the masterpiece won't count towards the requirement. With the Whiz Kid sometimes going back to school the next day completes it. But with many bugs, the only thing you can do is to use the 'aspirations.complete_current_milestone' cheat and then carry on.

You could try saving, quitting and restarting your game as this might reset things but generally once this glitch occurs it takes quite some sim weeks for the soul mate status to activate.
To get "Soul Mate" status, you need to go under "Friendly" and make them your BFF also.
If you change BFFs to another sim, your spouse no longer counts as your Soul Mate, despite the label in the social listing.
