What exactly is Master Controller?
« on: April 09, 2012, 11:23:29 PM »
Recently, I've been giving some serious consideration in these highly recommended (especially Twallan's Story Progression and Master Controller) mods. But, I'm interested in Master Controller. What exactly does Master Controller do?

I tend to have loud opinions. So sorry. I got tons of issues, lol. I can also be found on Yahoo! Answers.

The MasterController Base Mod "provides functionality to manage the population of your town".

If I typed up a list of what MasterController does, I'd make a huge wall of post. So, we're lucky that twallan provides a handy Interactions List to get you started. Since some of it might be a bit difficult to understand (Total Annihilation, for instance), here are some details about it.

MC provides a "Total Annihilation" option. What this does this mean? It completely and utterly deletes a Sim. It's as if the Sim never existed. For instance, in my Forumna Legacy, the 2nd Generation Spare, Teresa, was a vampire, and I sent her to Boarding School. Twallan's Overwatch Mod recovered her, and I had no idea if any repercussions would come about. So, instead of using TestingCheats' "delete sim" option, I used Total Annihilation. As far as the game is concerned, Teresa never existed.

I can't see many more options that I can explain (as in, aren't self-explanatory, and I don't know exactly what they do).

Don't forget to check out the MasterController FAQ.

Unlike other types of mods, MC is not automated. It simply improves your puppet master abilities. If your sims' inventories are a total mess, you can use MC to sort the inventories. You can use MC to do cheat-y type things, such as change traits ( and give sims more than 5  traits), change occult status, pollinate sims, make an instant baby, send a sim straight to CAS or the Stylist, remove lifetime rewards, add or remove money/lifetime happiness etc.

You can also use MC to add or remove celebrities, change a sim's (or several sims') job, delete all objects of a certain type (annoying diplomas, rewards etc.), edit relationships, etc. It can also remove the limit of 8 sims to a household, increase CAS slider range, and allow for more CAS sliders to be used. It has many, many useful features, so I recommend checking out the FAQ and the interaction list.

I can't live without MC. It changed my game and other mods by Twallan have enhanced the game. Check the FAQ and decide. You won't be sorry!

I've never used mods before, and I'm considering using this mod. I have perused the FAQs and threads about it, but I have a few particular questions left to ask.

I know this mod can be used to set jobs, skills, traits, and the like. It can also be used to alter afterschool activities and alma mater.
My question is, can you set valedictorian status, and will the Sim get the correct diploma for the school you select?

Also, will changes that you make to a Sim with this mod stay even if you transfer them to a mod-free game?

Thank you to the wonderful people on this forum, who have helped me resolve some of my other game issues in the past.
