Star cut gem
« on: May 03, 2010, 09:10:01 AM »
Hi fellow simmers,

Surfing the internet I came across a website where I saw people posting their gem cuts on a display. Two of them are shown as a star cut gem. I wonder how you actually can get one. Anybody knows?

This is the link: [link removed—Metro]

Hmmm ... could that be a hack?

I had a quick look at their site, but it wasn't obvious.

[Edited to remove name of the hack.  -Pam]

Slingsby is correct, it is in game but never used or can be without being enabled by a mod which is not fair!  :D

I am a cheater, I will admit that! But what I don't get is why use a hack or mod? I love my sims, and those things can mess up a game (I've heard) and I would never even think about doing that! If I can't play the sims at least once a day, I go nuts lol

Some people just don't understand the risks and others think they are smart enough to do it anyway.  :)

Leto85, never post a link to a modding site. Your link at the top of the page went to one of the worst mod sites and is a violation of forum rules. I removed the link.

Metro should you also remove the name of the site? People could just google it...  ;)

It is a shame that a mod is needed to unlock it, don't see why EA bothered to put it in.  :)

Sorry Metro. I didn't know that was a mod, really. Because the person on that (forbidden) site was wondering it himself. Next time I see anything I doubt about, and than I notice it is on that site, you will not hear me about it. ;)

Sorry for the Nercomancy. I just made a character who is a pure gem cutter, she traveled to China because I want my Tiberium to grow before I cut any of it and when I went to cut some of my lesser gems I noticed the Star Cut for $400. I've removed /all/ mods, CC, and anything else that could screw up my game in preparation for Pets tomorrow. Is it possible this cut is only available in certain places?

Welcome to our Forum, Kris.

To my knowledge, nothing has changed regarding this star cut gem.  Based on the other posts in this thread, it's only available by using a mod.  You said you've removed your mods, but maybe something is still left over that makes the star cut available.

Did you install the new patch that was just released? Maybe that unlocked the star cut.

While in a tomb in China my sim picked up a Star Cut Lapis Lazuli off the ground. I have never once encountered such a cut till after I installed Pets.

There's a hole other thread about this in the pets thread I think it's called
(New Jem Cut - Star Cut)
This was unlocked with pets no mods involved.
