Professional Author LTW Thoughts

Hello all!

So I've discovered something about the Professional Author LTW, and I thought I'd share.  (Mods, if this isn't the right place, feel free to move it.)

If you send your sim on vacation, and have them do nothing but write there, when they come back, they will have the royalties for every book they wrote on vacation, due to the time freeze in the home world.

So, if you've got a long enough vacation, you can earn the Professional Author LTW incredibly quickly.

I discovered this in my game and I figured I'd share -- my Writer Sim instantly fulfilled her LTW when I selected it at her Young Adult Birthday.

That's kind of awesome.  The only problem with that is if you want to be in the self-employed writer career it's actually a bad idea to do it on a vacation because royalties don't seem to count towards the total.

From what I can tell, the money you get from a chapter, plus the money you get when you finish a book, (the first royalty), seem to count towards the self-employed writer career. 

And yeah, this wouldn't work as well if you're going for the writing career, though it is a good way to get 25 novels so you can write Masterpieces.   It's really more about getting the LTW.

You're right.  The first royalty when you finish the book counts but the weekly royalties on Sunday does not count towards the career so it can be fatal for that career.  You're also right about the Masterpieces too.
