How do you cancel adventures
« on: April 30, 2010, 10:22:31 PM »

I'm stuck and unable to complete  adventures in all 3 places. The problem is I don't have enough time to complete them and when I return I have no clue how to proceed.  How do I cancel them ?
Does meditating in China allow you to skip an adventue you are stuck in ?

To cancel an adventure, go to your Opportunities tab for that country and right click on the adventure.  Most of them will come up again some other time to give you the opportunity to still complete them.  I'm not sure I understand your question about meditating in China.  There's an adventure for meditating at the Scholar's Garden, but that's part of the Martial Arts adventure chain and stands alone like all other adventures.

And welcome to the Forum!  :)

As Pam has explained, it's easy to cancel an adventure.  But if the issue is just not enough time on a particular vacation, you can (if you choose) just leave it in your adventure journal and continue with the adventure next time you're in that country.  Doing this means you can't take on another adventure in the meantime in that country, of course.

On the meditation issue, are you wondering if you can use zeneporting to escape from a tomb or to get someplace not easily accessible?  If that's what you're wondering, the answer is yes.  If you can see it, you should be able to zeneport to it.

OK, slightly off topic: Carl has written a very good article on precisely that adventure, I would suggest you read it if you haven't. :)

Thanks. I was able to complete it on my own  by cheating using zeneport . That is a very handy trait!!

If you do want to cancel adventures, here's a few things I've discovered myself.

If it's a multi-step adventure, canceling it has caused me to not be able to complete it ever again. It never reappears on the adventure board. I found this in Egypt with an adventure that took me into a house. I had to leave (I can't remember exactly why) but I could not reenter, so I canceled the adventure. But I have never had the oppurtunity to start it up again, either from the step, or from the beginning.

Also, I had a little trouble with one particular french adventure. I think I had canceled that for some reason (I think because it asked for pomegranates and I had none at the time), then when it popped up again (unlike the egyptian one mentioned above), I picked up some pomegranates at home and went to accept the adventure again on the return trip to France. But this time it asked me for more pomegranates than before! I eventually found that each time the adventure info came up (by clicking on the adventure board enough times to get it), it asked for a different number of pomegranates! So in the end I kept clicking until it asked for the amount of pomegranates I had. lol.

Anyway, maybe that's not helpful, but maybe it is...

I've been able to pick up on multi-step adventures many times.  I haven't had that problem at all.

Multi-step adventures? Sorry if I am too much off topic now (could be I am just not familiair with the term for something I already know) but what is, or are multi-step adventures?

"Go-to-that-tomb-come-back-give-me-lime-nectar-go-to-that-tomb-give-me-gems" kinda style build-up, where you first solve one step and then the adventure-chain continues.
