What needs to be done to gain an "impressive reputation"
« on: March 30, 2012, 03:57:05 AM »
Just wondering the criteria for gaining the "impressive reputation" at the consignment store.

I'm sure it's been asked before, but a search gained me nada. Thanks.

I think it's selling $25,000 worth of goods? I think.

And shouldn't this be in the Ambitions board?

Sorry 'bout that...lack of sleep, I suppose.

And nope, not selling $25K. I've sold $47+K and only have 'excellent'. I do have 1 item listed as returned; wondering if that may have something to do with not achieving it yet?

Anyone else? Thanks.

My collector has sold about 3k worth of stuff (mostly fruit and fish, some inventions, nothing returned unsold) and the skill journal lists reputation as impressive, but the skill challenge hasn't been completed... Is it a possible bug?

It's seems to have something to do with the quality of what you sell.  So selling 'perfect' stuff helps reputation, I think. I've sold a bunch of perfect fruit/veggies, and that Sim's reputation skyrockets.

I've heard of other people who have had glitchy problems with the "impressive reputation".  Someone mentioned selling over 75,000 simoleons and still not getting credit.  just keep selling stuff, it'll eventually fix itself.  You could also try a variety of stuff: paintings, sculptures, inventions, etc (can't remember what else sells in a base game, I have a mods from twallan that lets me sell paintings, sculptures, inventions, small animals, gemstones, metal, nectar, fruit/veggies, potions, bugs/butterflies, books, etc)  But maybe more variety gets you a better reputation, and of course better quality.

:)

When I start a game I'm planing on using the consign store I'll go to the grocery store and buy 99 apples, 99 tomatoes and 99 lettuce or something similar and put them up in the consignment shop and usually gain the impressive rep before they all sell. Around 250 items or so. I do this before selling anything paintings, sculptures or anything else I've made.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.
