Butler won't cook

Hi
My sims live in the new Union Cove and I really like it but i cant get my butler too cook even if i ask them. All they do is talk about it and then imedietly start chatting with the sim that asked them.
I tried to change butler by dismissing him/her and getting a new one, and i have rebuilt the kitchen and my Sims can use it without any problems.
My main sim is a genie and his wife is a human if that matters.
I should probably add that i have all the expansion packs installed.

If anyone has any idea what i can do I would be greatfull for any advice.

Hay-o.

First, your lucky your butler rarely cooks. I enjoy "getting rid of them" via deaths cause they typically cook meals nonstop. I think you should dismiss that butler, re-hire another, and see what happens. Or, get rid of the butler via death or cheats (testingcheatsenabled true..shift+click.."Object".."Delete It") and call up a new one.

Thank you for responding.

I have triend to change the butler it seems like i have had them all but they wont cook at all. I guess its a bug and i can live with it as long as i have a genie in the household to summon food but it is abit annoying.

It could also be your stove. If there's a pathing issue or something. Can your sim cook on the stove?

I dont think that the stove is the problem. My Sims cook all the time without problems. And i have remodeled the kitchen and even moved after discovering the problem. :(

I notice in my game, if the hunger bar on the sims in the house is green, the butler will not cook anything, as soon as the bar is half way down or starts to change colors, the butler starts cooking.  May not be the problem, but that has been happening when I have a butler.  Could be just a bug like you said. :)

My butler only cooks when my sims get the hunger moodlet at 3h to starving. The problem is that they go and eat the leftovers while he's cooking and then they want to eat again.

It appears you definitely have a glitch. Did you try moving out and moving back in?

Yes i moved out and back in again still the same issue. Last night i started a new family in a different 'hood so im gonna try it with them too later when they get settled.

I have that same thing. Probably it's not a bug but "meant to be."

I know its meant to work like that. The problem for was/is that my buler never cooked even if my sims were starving. Seems to work with my new sim family though so it must have been something with that perticular town.

Have you solved your problem?
Actually, I am not even going to wait you to answer that one. :) You could save your family and the house and start them in a new town. both a separate saves to the bin, first the family and than the house. That may solve your problem.

Because butlers where there long before genies came.

People, if you don't like butlers cooking so much, just go ahead and lock the kitchen door to him.
