Can you force Celebrity Level?

Is it possible to gain a celebrity level if you don't know any celebrities?

You can get opportunities that give you celebrity points - I know some of the skills have opportunities that reward with celebrity points.

Hmmm. I wonder which skills. She's an actress so maybe she'll get an opportunity when she gets off maternity leave.

There are several opportunities where no skills are required..like the Commercial Recording one at the Diner.

I tend to have loud opinions. So sorry. I got tons of issues, lol. I can also be found on Yahoo! Answers.

I think you only get those ones if you already have 1 celebrity star. There are ones for cooking and painting I know for sure, I think gardening and writing maybe. And you get celebrity points for performances if you are in a band. I'm not sure about the other skills, but there probably are.

I think the reason there are no celebrities in town is because I'm using Twallen's Story Progression even though it says celebrities are allowed.

You must be playing a town where there are no "built-in" celebrities when you start the new game, right? Then, even if the celebrities are allowed, there is no-one to kind of... spread the disease, so to speak. (personally I don't like celebrities)
I think you need to manually add celebrity stars to some townies to get it started. I doubt any townies will move in with existing stars either, as the immigrants are propably CAS generated random sims. So if you have NRaas Master Controller, you can manually add some sims some stars. With only story progression, there is no way to do that... Or I think you could save some celebrieties to the bin (from other games/town) and then place them in the current one.

My sim has no celebrity stars and I never ever saw any opportunities (skill or celebrity) that had anything to do with celebrity points. So my feeling is they are only for after you gained the first star by talking to existing celebrities.

In the normal version of the game, there would be celebrities at her place of employment.  Actors and directors normally have co-workers who are celebrities.  Once you interact with them successfully, your Sim will gain a celebrity star.

Thanks, Guys! I do have Master Controller as well. I'll have to look through it again to see if I can find something to do with celebrities. If I can't find it, I'll grab a couple from Bridgeport.

I've noticed that if, using testing cheats, you go through the relationship panel and raise the level of the people in it your Sim will gain stars.
I found this when working on something and was raising the relationship of the family members in the household. After I got the first message that my Sim's level had gone up I took a plunge and just maxed the bar in every relationship in the panel. My Sim got several stars right away.

As far as I know, if you want one to fire quickly and you have Showtime, another way is using the Showtime careers. Once they reach level 2, they roll an opportunity to complete their first gig, and doing that will give them some celebrity points too.

With Master Controller you can make your sim a 5 star if you want to. In Bridgeport, I felt some of the sims didn't deserve the number of stars they had due to their skill level, etc. so I took them down a notch. Of course by doing so, they were demoted in their jobs.

Thanks, Drift. I "borrowed" Arial Trill from Bridgeport. As soon as Vanessa gained one star, she started getting all kinds of celebrity opps. She's on her way! :)

Where do you find that, MoMoll? I looked at all of the options in MC (I thought) but couldn't find it.
