Weird sounds (Chimes) in the game?

Since installing Master Suite and Showtime I've been noticing some weird sounds in the game. It sounds like chimes. I know there's a chime/bell for the ice cream truck. This is a different chiming (sp?) sound, and it happens whenever - is the best I can describe it. It doesn't matter what my sim people are doing. I thought maybe it had something to do with what the other sim people are doing in town. But I made sure Story Progression was turned off. That didn't help. The game still makes the chiming noise from time to time.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard this chiming in their game too, and if so what's it coming from? Is there away to turn it off?

Yeah I started a thread about this right after Showtime came out.  It's noises that are in the game for the consignment game, pets learning traits and other things like that.   They play randomly and for no reason at all.  I can't tell you how I got them to stop either.  Still happens on occassion for no reason.

I have been hearing some random chimes in my game recently. At first I thought it was the noise you get when somebody completes a wish but at one point it was going off every few seconds and I thought to myself woah my Sims are not that happy.

Of course this is no help what so ever but at least you know you are not alone.

Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone in this. I figured it was sounds from completing a wish or what-not too. But soon realized that couldn't be it either as the game was chiming way to often to be related to that.

I get chimes whenever a Sim Fest starts in town and it plays over and over and over until the Sim Fest ends. The chime goes off about every 30 seconds and I end up turning my speakers off until it's over or I'm ready to scream.
I was going to start a thread to see if others had this issue when I noticed this one about something similar.

Grimsoul is right. My sim get a pop up that there is a simfest and the sounds begin. I sent my sims to the simfest and the sounds stop. LOL!

I have been playing in Lunar lakes and the sounds started after I placed a coffee house and a live venue from showime. Maybe that has some connection.

I've noticed them as well and shortly after I installed Showtime I realized it was from the SimFest. However, I don't recall them going off as often as every 30 seconds and they generally don't bother me. Lol, occasionally I'm deeply involved with a particular sim, the sound goes off and I freak, thinking one of the other sims in the household is having some sort of crisis or something!!! Other than that, they don't bother me.
They do, however, seem to be directly connected to the SimFest.

Cool, I'll try sending a sim there next time it happens and see if it stops it for me also.

I don't think that has anything to do with it.  I went back to a family and placed no venues from Showtime and still get those silly sounds.

I used to get them but since installing pets they are gone?

Interesting. Maybe it has nothing to do with the new venues? Maybe it's just a random wide-spread Sims bug!!

I usually play my games in Sunset Valley, but this last game that I noticed the chiming in was in Hidden Springs without any Showtime lots added.

Sim Fest?! Does it show up somewhere on the town map when it's happening?

Yes, when your in Map view, you see a bright red/yellow (I think?) SimFest Icon.

Yeah, it's for upcoming SimFests..but after that chime..there are multiple different chimes. I don't know what that means.
