Right now The Sims Store is holding another giveaway on Facebook!  Update your store wish list with athletic wear that you like, and then post a link to your wish list on their FB status!  Last time I won something, so it's totally worth a shot!

New free item at the store Lucky Duckie:
Enjoy.  ;)

While swimming, your sim has a little risk to drown. I know it is just small and the occasion is so rare that maybe just a few members here have ever seen their sims drown by accident. But I assume that while wearing this Lucky Ducky the occasion reduces to zero. After all, why would the name otherwise partly be Lucky.
Better be sure and download.

[Edited for spelling and vocabulary. Also, a "chance" implies a positive probability whilst a "risk" would be a negative probability. The risk of drowning would by all standards be deemed as negative. - Your friendly neighbourhood Swede]

Ok, no more posts after mine here because these things are always driven off topic. ;)
"Chance" doesn't always necessarily mean a completely positive probility or an opportunity, but it becomes an awkward word choice when you come into a situation when there's absolutely nothing positive about it. For example "a chance to die in a car accident" is emphasising, probably, the wrong part about the accident i.e. that the subject of the car accident saw it as his/her opportunity to die. Unless that person wanted a suicide, the more correct word to use is "a risk to die in a car accident". There are large grey zones to this, but I was just helping Leto out with picking a more suitable word for this context.

Now, let's get back to admiring that cute ducky! :D

EDIT: Why I was commenting on something little like that? Well Leto had said that he wanted help in improving his English, so I always try to give him something to improve his grammar or vocabulary. This time to help him with his vocabulary. It wasn't necessarily wrong what he had written before, but it sounds weird and in the longer context it could be good to know what words may imply.

hmmmm, well I'm not leto but english is my first language, and it pains me to see such particularity - english has a lot of slang and words that mean multiple things. Why bother commenting on something like that? If I was talking to Leto in person, I wouldn't comment on that in the middle of a conversation. Really it's all a matter of opinion. But if leto appreciates it, all is well.

I think we in essence are not really arguing for two different sides. Please get back on topic. :)

There is a free female child Lucky Duckie Jr top, but it can only be found at the "In Game Store". >:(
I tried to get the link after I downloaded it, but it takes you to a 404 error page ( Guess they really want you to use that In Game Store access).  :-\
So if you want the item you will have to go into your game and access the EA store from there and it will be found under Female Child category.
Here is a pic of the top:

Am I still allowed to post on this, just because I am partly the subject now, even if it could be a little bit off topic? :S
I want to say that I agree with Swede on the corrections, just so I can learn from it. Because that is what I want. I want to upgrade my broken English to proper English and all the moderators here know that I am busy with improving just that, even though I still make mistakes. I want to learn, even the little things such as the difference between 'risk' or 'chance' if they are important to know. In occasions like this I really need moderators like Pam and Swede because 'risk' and 'chance' both lead to the same translation in Dutch, in this occasion because in Holland there isn't really a big difference between risks and chances, in this case. So how could I know that without Swede's help?
In fact: I might consider myself very lucky that I actually have found a forum where the moderators will take the time to help me with that.
So Swede, thank you for the explanation. I know you mean well. ;)

And to get a little bit back on topic: I still have to download this ducky thing. :P

Please don't reply on this post unless you really need to, but even then you could simply sent me a PM. I just don't want this topic to be to much off topic, just because of me. So let's talk about lucky duckies, or open a Leto-topic. :P

[Edited for spelling. Thanks for the compliment, I'm happy to help out. I want everybody to know that I don't correct your posts for very little things like this unless you've said you wanted help in getting a better vocabulary like Leto did ;). - Swede]

They're holding another giveaway on Facebook for electronic items.  Apparently they're extending the giveaway to twitter as well.

Now if I only had facebook or twitter (man, I'm really out of the loop for an 18-year old :)).
Though hoping that any of you guys win something.

No worries, they aren't all it's cracked up to be. I honestly find it a good way to create something, put out your information with it, and be bored. There isn't much you can do with either.

Just spotted that the Toyota Prius giveaway added something to the page: an ECO Pack

http://store.thesims3.com/prius.html?intcmp=eaint109

I suppose these will be welcomed by the eco-conscious sims.

I haven't seen that Prius car before on this thread.
Wonder how much Toyota gave for this advertisement? ::)

Funny. Eco-Friendly will be a new trait for The Sims 3 Ambitions. It looks like EA is going to let the players think about the environment by introducing these kind of things into the game. I think that's a good thing.
