Yes, avatar.  I used the wrong word even though English it my first and only language.  ;D  It's what you uploaded to your profile and it shows up on all of your posts (like my Sim picture on the left side of this post.  On your posts, Leto, I'm only seeing the red X that indicates something is wrong with the image.  It could be just on my computer, though.  Does anyone else see the red X where Leto's avatar should be?

Oh so. No, nothing is wrong. It's just that I don't have an avatar at the moment. I was looking for one on my computer a few day's ago, but than I forgot that I recently has moved my pictures to another harddrive that I use specially for personal movies and pictures, I mean photo's. I'm just to afraid that I would lost something in cases my laptop decide to collaps, or something like that, so I moved those to a saver place. Probably the place where my avatar should be on this forum is linking to a place in my documents that doesn't excist anymore.
I will probably photoshop and then upload another one in the nearby future ones I find one that suit me well. Untill then: the red X represents me! :D Are there btw some rules on what avatars are aloud, or not? Not that I'm planning any nasty thing, but I don't want to discourage anyone.

Well, the normal forum rules states that this site should be kept as family friendly as possible, so nothing abusive or any profanity. I think it's pretty obvious rules, but I would recommend you to not have anything that's in a grey zone here; don't try to test the limits of the rules, OK?
It can only risk triggering an unnecessary conversation. :) Other than that, it's fine!

Naa, I'm not going to test anything. It have to stay relaxt out here, don't you think? Just a funny pic of one of my sims acting insanely stupid or funny or so (like fishing in the toilet) will probably be cool.

Wahaha, I know. I was struggling with a sims tattoo on my arm, but the most ideas were just to little to be visible in my avatar. Then just the 3 magic letters: S I M. Too bad a plumbbob would have made it just too indistinct.
Btw, I myself have looked like like a sim a few years ago. I've dressed myself like one during the carnival period at school. :P Haha, I almost won a price to. :D

Out of random curiosity over that new car, I just got and downloaded the car, however, I have no idea what everyone is talking about with the windmills and the money saving or cause and effect thing! Can someone explain that to me?

No, it's fine. I can only learn from this. Thanks Swede.

I've just started reading this thread and haven't read all the earlier posts, so I hope I'm not repeating something.  But I thought others would be interested in this.

I recently purchased a few simpoints so I could get some new hairdos for my sims, and of course I also downloaded all the free stuff I could find; well, most of it.  One of the things I noticed is that the store doesn't tell you how much it will cost your sims to purchase the item.  When I was in Buy Mode looking for something to decorate a sim's house yesterday, I found a new item called "The Dragon's Vase" in the decorative section.  I don't remember downloading it specifically, but it has the solid green plumbob like the other items from the store and there's no other place it could have come from.  What's interesting about this vase is that it has an environmental value of 5 and costs the sims just $1 to buy.  So naturally I placed several of them in my sims' home.  Nicely decorated moodlets for under $5!  Works for me.

I remember getting this same vase.  It might have been attached to something else you downloaded.  However, I want to warn you that just because an item in Buy Mode has the green plumbob on the little icon doesn't mean it came from the Sims 3 Store.  The dastardly third party content items that sneak into your game via lots and Sims that you download from the Exchange will also have that same green plumbob, making them look legitimate when they really aren't.

I found where it came from.  It was part of a free collection called "adventurer" or something like that.  Thanks for the warning about third party content though.  I have never downloaded such items and don't think I want to take the risks.  Surely stuff from the Sims 3 store should be all right, though?
