Serious Error message
« on: March 24, 2012, 07:44:16 PM »
Since I got my new computer I havent been able to play my games.  I can load the program and launcher, load the game..create a new sim and play it all day but as soon as I quit the game, whether I save and quit or just save then quit w/o saving, I cannot load that new game I just created.  The error message I get is:  A serious error has occurred while loading 'name.sims3.  It is strongly recommended that you restart the application.
I have been with tech support a hundred times with this and sometimes they will have me do something that will get it to run but as soon as I quit the game, it happens again.  I have done a manual uninstall and reinstalled in the right order, removed all cc, run as admin, cleared all caches, changed the DEP settings...among other things I dont remember..any ideas..anyone?  I have been playing Sims since the first Sims game and dont like any other games...please, can anyone help?

When you say you can run it all day and then you quit, do you 'save as' during your play session.  It sounds to me like your saving process is not working.  If you open the game, create a sim or whatever, then 'save as' and exit to the main menu, can you then load that save?

I've just quit out of the game for the night but maybe it isn't there in Create a Sim.  What about if you open up a fresh town, put your sim in it or take over one of the houses and then see if you can 'save as'.
