Tips for copying real people in CAS?
« on: March 23, 2012, 04:01:51 PM »
I'd like to make some sims of a few famous people, but I'm having a hard time getting a good likeness. Is anyone here particularly good with CAS and can give me a few tips?

I would have a magazine or portrait of that particular person you are trying to create. Also, there is more than one skin color, besides the brown, you could either do the yellowish-tan or the rosy pink too. If the celebrity you're creating has been in the spotlight in a crazy way, give them a special athletic outfit. For Charlie Sheen, I either give him a pirate outfit, or a ninja one.

Sliders are great too! They can really give you an accurate stance. Body hair can work too. It makes them even more accurate. (David Hasselhoff anyone?) ;D

Most importantly, don't use any sort of realistic skin tones, or "anti pudding" mods. It appears to be trying to hard, and it looks very creepy. A good Sim representation of a famous celebrity, still has the Sim look. The way Sims are suppose to look. Plus, you don't want to infect another person's game with a virus do you? Especially those who don't like CC.

My only tip, which is for anytime you're trying to create a realistic looking sim, is to remember there may be more than one way to your goal.  If those eyes don't look right, try not only changing their size, but what about raising the eyelids?  What about raising one but not the other?  Moving the whole eye down on the face?  Or it might not have anything to do with the eye.  Maybe a higher cheekbone or gaunter cheek or stronger nose bridge will bring about the right result?  Also, don't pay attention to just the features (the nose, the eyes, the mouth), but to the spaces in between.  Contrary to what EA seems to think, not every person's nose looks as though it's about to fall off their face into their mouth.   ???

My tip is to please, please, please avoid the default options. They are beyond common and if the famous person has unique features, avoid the first options..aka default. I also doubt the celebrities have cloned faces..unless they're related.

I tend to have loud opinions. So sorry. I got tons of issues, lol. I can also be found on Yahoo! Answers.
