Problem: Game is slow loading and slow when saving

I think I remember reading something about speeding up the loading process of the game. But I can't remember where I found that. So I figured I should ask again.

What's going on is, the game goes fairly smooth/fast loading on the Showtime screen. But after you've selected the town you want to play it slows down to a crawl and takes awhile to load the town.

Is there something that might help speed up the loading time of the game?

Second thing, Saving the town seems to take forever as well. I was trying to save today and both saves seem like they were going to freeze or something. But did not. The saving process just took it's own sweet time.

There's a sticky at the top of this section of the forum called "What to do if Your Game Slows Down."  You could see if any of the suggestions in there help.

Thank you, I refreshed myself on that thread. Found a few things that might help. Some of it I've already done, like deleting files in the DCBackup folder, backed up saved games, and deleted a couple of other files.  Haven't tried deleting these files yet = CasPartCache.package, compositorCache.package, scriptCache.package, simCompositorCache.package.

I was hoping there might be something new-ish to try as well since there has been some new expansions and stuff packs since some of the instructions were first written.
