Where do you get some of the vegetarian recipes?
« on: March 21, 2012, 09:41:47 PM »
Like grilled salmon and dim sum or spaghetti with veggie sauce? I bought all the recipes from the store but that's not all of the recipes.

Salmon I think you need a grill for.  You can't make it on the regular stove.

Dim sum is one of the recipes you learn as you gain cooking skill.  It's high up there, though, maybe level eight or so?

Spaghetti with veggie sauce is something you learn only if your sim is a vegetarian, I think.  Otherwise, they just learn spaghetti.

It says on my Sims cooking skill that she knows 77% of the recipes. My Sim is level 10 in all the skills. Can you learn the veggie recipes and then go back to eating meat?

Yep! You're able to prepare both a vegetarian and non-vegetarian version of each meal once you've learnt both recipes.

You can cook grilled salmon on a stove. I always make my sims do that.

For the vegetarian recipes, you need the vegetarian trait.

Do you learn them the second the trait is applied to the Sim?
Edit: My Sim can make the vegetation recipes from the store.

Automatically. They're replaced with basic recipes like Hot Dogs-> Tofu Dogs.

Cool, but if I was to take the trait off would the recipes disappear?

I think so. The trait is required for the recipes.

Yep! You're able to prepare both a vegetarian and non-vegetarian version of each meal once you've learnt both recipes.

It's been a while since I've played a vegetarian, but as I remember it only vegetarians can make the vegetarian versions of normal recipes.  Did this change?

The new vegetarian specific dishes I was assuming were different.

Yeah, since the Showtime patch I've been able to buy and prepare recipes for both. There's also a lot of new vegetarian options that weren't in the game previously, such as Veggie Rolls instead of Sushi Rolls.

The trait doesn't matter my Sim didn't learn the recipes and Ausette, how did you learn them? My Sim has no new options, even with the trait.

Need help on cooking skill!
« Reply #12 on: March 22, 2012, 12:38:44 AM »
OK, I am facing a major problem here. I have all the EPs and SPs installed and my Sim has reached level 10 of the cooking skill. He now knows all the recipes but the percentage of recipes known is currently at 87%! Why is this so? These are the recipes my Sim knows:

Mac and Cheese
Autumn Salad
Waffles
Hot dogs
Ratatouille
Peanut Butter and Jelly
Pancakes
Groupy Carbonara
Grilled Cheese
Fish and Chips
Cookies
Fruit Parfait
Spaghetti (With Vege Sauce)
Sushi
Stu Surprise
Cheesesteak
Hamburger (Veggie Burger)
Cobbler
Key Lime Pie
Egg Machiavellan
Grilled Salmon
Tri-Tip Steak
Stuffed Turkey
French Toast
Dim Sum
Baked Angel Food Cake
Ambrosia
Lobster Thermidor
Cheese Plate
Bouillabaisse
Frog legs
Crepes
Shawarma
Falefel
Egg Rolls
Stir-Fry
Duck Pet Food
Chicken Pet Food
Fish Pet Food
Beef Pet Food
Horse Granola
Cheese Tofu Steak
Fried Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich
Tri-Tip Tofu Steak
Stuff Tursoykey

So did anyone get to 100% of recipes known? Am I missing something here? Please advise! Thanks!

That's odd, have you checked the bookstore since the patch? Also, do you have World Adventures?

I noticed that you only have a few vegetarian dishes listed but not all of them so that might be the problem as most recipes now have a vegetarian alternative since the release of Showtme. Here's a list:

Vegetarian Dim Sum
Spaghetti with Veggie Sauce
Tri Tip Tofu Steak
Veggie Burger
Veggie Rolls
Vegetarian Lobster Thermidor
Vegetarian Grilled Salmon
Vegetarian Fish & Chips
Cheese Tofu Steak
Tofu Dog

Try these if you haven't already, they could be what you are missing.
