The Hacker Dynasty. Episode 3: A Birthday, a Marriage, AND a Baby?
« Reply #17 on: March 23, 2012, 01:19:27 PM »
Episode Three: A Birthday, a Marriage, AND a Baby?

Sunset Valley's got a new officer in town, she don't take no gruff from nobody. No criminal in Sunset Valley is safe from Agnes's grumpiness. She'll arrest you if you even look at her the wrong way while she's in a bad mood... which is why the innocent are also in danger. The motive mobile ensures that Agnes will always be in a good mood no matter what. If Agnes is in a good mood, she won't want to arrest people. As long as people sacrifice their best swordfish to the almighty cow plant however, no harm will come to the people of Sunset Valley.

The episode begins with Agnes's adult birthday. Justin doesn't really know anyone other than Agnes so unfortunately, there's no party for her. On the bright side...

Justin: I got you a birthday present.
Agnes: What's that?
Justin: Your very own personal butler. She came with her own noise maker to celebrate your birthday.
Butler: I am pleased to serve you, madam.
Justin: I had to give up the immortal dental plan to pay for her though.

At least she got the makeover she wanted.

A couple of days later, Justin finished supermaxing painting and maxing out his career. With the hard part out of the way, Justin went down to the library where Agnes was busy maxing writing for her lifetime wish.

Justin: Hey Agnes, I'm ready for my young adult portrait now
Agnes: Uh-huh...
Justin: Are you okay? You look mesmerized.
Agnes: Yeah sure.
Justin: You're not paying attention at all to what I'm saying, are you?
Agnes: The butler broke a window playing pool? She's fired.
Justin: Oh for--we have no windows! Come here!

Justin: Maybe this will get your attention.
Agnes: Yes!
Justin: Now are you ready to paint a portrait and birth a child?
Agnes: Huh? Oh sure sure sure. Let's go home.

After getting married in the library, the Hackers went home. Agnes painted Justin's portrait really quickly and together, went to the bathroom to try for a baby.

It must have been successful because while Agnes was busy maxing writing and Justin was busy banning gardening by maxing it, Agnes became very sick and threw up in the library. As if public toilets couldn't get any worse...

But the good news is, Agnes is pregnant with the second generation. What could possibly be planned for the second generation? Since all Agnes can think about right now is the soothing salvation she got at the day spa, the only way to find out is to wait for the baby to be born.

Demonstrating her horrible timing, Agnes went into labor right when she was about to finish maxing writing for her lifetime wish. Not wanting to give birth to a baby in the middle of the library, Agnes drove the motive mobile while the baby was kicking her stomach the entire way and had the child there. She's one tough lady.

Say hello to Terry Hacker, the second generation. Being disciplined, he spent his first moments trying to parry the doctor's scissors when cutting the umbilical cord. It took a while for him to get tired so he's probably athletic as well.

Agnes: Justin, are you sure about your parenting skills?
Justin: Not really, but I think I have something that will help.

The Hacker Dynasty. Episode 4: The Baby Closet
« Reply #20 on: March 24, 2012, 03:14:53 PM »
Episode Four: The Baby Closet

Under normal circumstances, babies require lots of love, attention, and future preparation. Failure to do so leads to a visit from your friendly neighborhood social worker. Although Justin isn't really sure about his parenting skills, he mentioned that he has something that might help him with Terry, the family's newest addition.

Continuing where we left off, the Hackers went home with their new bundle. When they arrived home, Justin had little Terry handed over to him so that Justin can make use of this new object.

Justin: In this closet is the thing we need to make taking care of our child easy.
Agnes: You have no plans whatsoever of showing me this thing I take it.
Justin: Don't be silly, I can't take care of him alone.

Welcome to The Baby Closet, Terry. In this closet, all of your needs will be satisfied by sitting in a swing set to slow all throughout your early development. To prevent free will from interrupting your deep meditation, the door is locked whenever the swing is on and unlocked when it needs to be turned back on again.

Justin: (He'll be fine)

After setting Terry in the swing, Justin got a wish to see the unicorn that was gracing Summer Hill Springs with it's presence. Getting the magnificent idea of hiding behind the subway station to look at the unicorn, Justin sat back and observed that white unicorn on the left.

Please ignore the fact that the cow plant has died of hunger.

The next day, Justin had to attend an award ceremony for his amazing showing of staying home drawing pictures all day to max his career... okay, he did give Christopher Steel a new pool for some money but that was after he hit 10. It wasn't what the award ceremony was for.

Dusty McAdams: I am pleased to award Mr. Hacker for his amazing job of sitting home and drawing pictures all day. To show our appreciation, the citizens award you with this.
Justin: Are these... orders?
Dusty McAdams: Yes, City Hall is commissioning you to paint 15 paintings for us. Will you accept?
Justin: Uh... sure. It might take a while though because I have a baby and--
Dusty McAdams: You've accepted. Now hop to it, no excuses.

The next few days were spent having Justin paint to complete an opportunity...

Agnes studying handiness to upgrade the food replicator she'll be purchasing soon...

And little Terry sitting in a locked closet. His needs are constantly full because of the chair.

In fact, The Baby Closet worked so well that everyone forgot it was his birthday. Aren't the Hackers just the best parents ever? The door had to be unlocked so that someone could put him on the floor to age up.

...only for him to be put back in afterwards with the door locked.

The Baby Dungeon had more room!  You could at least put the baby near a fire place and an incense burner for happiness points.   Great update!

Terry definitely has Agnes' skin color.

Baby closet! I love it. It never even crossed my mind to lock the door when people keep putting the swing on fast. I'll have to be doing that in the future!

Locking the baby in a room what a fantastic idea I think I need to build me a baby closet too.

It's getting a minor renovation next update so that although it'll still be a closet, it'll at least have room for a potty chair and an end table to hold incenses. Didn't think about adding a fireplace though.

I put it on slow because putting it on fast makes them nauseous which kind of defeats the point of the chair for me.

Yep, I hate it when sims automatically put it on fast instead of slow, and I never seem to be able to catch them in time. A locked door is just the trick!
