Episode Eight: The First ImmortalSome of you may be wondering why it's necessary to do everything that is required for immortality. Living forever is a pretty big deal, the requirements are there so that being immortal actually has meaning. Here's a little explanation as to what each objective means.
The Lifetime Wish: Very obvious. If an immortal tries to eat ambrosia without the lifetime wish complete, he or she will never truly be fulfilled and must live forever feeling empty inside.
The Career: To show that the immortal is the very best in his field of employment. Failure to satisfy this means there will always be that one person who is a better businessman or rock star than you.
The Supermax: Most people are satisfied with level 10 but for immortality, the sim must be the absolute, undeniable best at a skill. Without the supermax, it would be The Devil Went Down to Georgia all over again, only the immortal is The Devil.
Real Estate: To truly become the best in the land, the immortal needs to own a piece of it. This is surprisingly important as there may be a crazed billionaire that wants to buy the entire city but as long as immortals own a piece of the city and never sell it, they can't be bought out and evicted.
Portraits: To have their path to immortality remembered for all of eternity. Without this, people will eventually forget the immortals.
Unique Lifetime Rewards: Proof of their happiness throughout the journey. An immortal without this may as well question why they're immortal to begin with if they were so unhappy.
Unique Opportunities: To show that they helped various citizens in their time of need. Any immortal who doesn't complete their blackops will eventually be hated amongst all of the city for being greedy and stuck-up.
Best Friends: Despite everything else they have to do, they still need to have a social life during the journey. They need the spirits of their best friends to watch over them in order to prevent the immortal from being forever alone.
If this was too long for you, then here's a summarized version. Immortality is for sims who want to stroke their ego.
This episode begins with Terry making his second wish to the genie. The good thing about the one day cooldown is that it gives the master to think about what he really wants so he can make full use of his three wishes.
Felix: I am fully rested and ready to grant your second wish, Master.
Terry: I think I know what I want. I wish for--
Justin: Fortune! Wish for money!
Terry: World peace. Is that possible? Wishing for world peace?
Felix: Done! You have one more wish remaining.
Justin: Awww...
Using the power of the butler and meeting new friends in school, it was no problem for Terry to throw parties for friendship while he meditated all day.
Felix: This spaghetti is good, but I could magically summon better food.
Terry: ...
Felix: Master, am I disturbing your meditation?
Terry: ...
Party Guest: Great party Terry!
A few days of meditation and parties later, it was finally time for Justin's elder birthday party. There isn't much to say about him, he got a once in a lifetime chance to start an immortal dynasty because some other guy decided "forget this" and left. He's doing quite well actually, all he needs is his elder portrait and he's done. Poor Terry has to miss the party because of school though.
Agnes: You're going to love this part. This is where you spin in a circle and break your spine.
Justin: That sounds painful.
Agnes: Oh no, trust me, all you have to do is eat the ambrosia afterwards and it'll fully heal.
Justin: Then that means your spine is still broken? How are you even moving?
Agnes: Magic
That jacket looks oddly familiar.
Justin: Huh? I don't feel anything. Either my spine isn't broken or it hurt so much that I actually didn't feel it.
After flopping his arms and legs around to find out the hard way that he was fine, it was time for his elder makeover.
It seems that every founder can pull off the beard. Must be a blessing from Agnes.
Before becoming immortal, there's one final obstacle that needs to be overcome. No one ever learned the recipe for ambrosia. Thank goodness the bookstore was having a sale so Justin ran out and got it at around half price. Right around the time Justin got home, Terry started doing his homework.
Terry: Dad, I have to write an essay on what the meaning of life is, can you help?
Justin: The answer is to become immortal.
Butler Douglas: If I may, the correct answer is seven, good sir.
Justin: On second thought, write what he said while I finish learning this recipe.
Terry: Seven... okay, only 999 words to go.
Douglas: Another tactic you could use is stapling some money on the back of your essay.
With his elder portrait painted by Agnes, all of Justin's requirements are now complete. After preparing a plate of ambrosia, Justin sat down and dined on it for the first time.
Justin: I'm not sure if life fruit and deathfish make a good combo, but it tastes alright. Hey Terry, come try some.
Terry: ...
Justin: (Nothing can break that boy's meditation)
