Mod updates for Patch 1.33

Will updating to this patch mean that the mods must be updated as well?

Yes, the patch means Mods will need to be updated as well.

Just asked Hubby about this earlier today.  He says yes, if there's new patches for the game, you'll need to find and download updated Mods. So... You'll want to either - not patch your game, till the mods have been updated. Or take the Mods folder out and leave them out till they've been updated.

I think since I just started a new game, I'm going to stick it out and wait for the Mod updates first before I patch the game.

Patch 1.32 and 1.33 did not change a single XML resource from patch 1.31. This means any XML/Tuning mod you are using that works for 1.31 will be compatible with 1.32 and 1.33. Core mods must always be updated for every patch level. For the most part, script mods have also been unaffected by 1.32 and 1.33, as well.

I have a tutorial about how to check if an XML Tuning mod needs to be updated. Perhaps someone is interested in it.

So does that mean that all of twallan's Mods except the ones he marks as Core Mods (ErrorTrap and, I think, Porter) are still compatible?

ErrorTrap and Untranslated Key are core mods :) Porter is a script mod. Twallan has gone through and changed the patch level compatibility on all of his mods already. He didn't update the WrittenWord page, which I believe was an oversight,  though I really don't know for sure. For the NRaas suite, you can go through the pages and see if Twallan has changed the patch level compatibility for the mods you use.

These patches are special circumstance, since EA has not released so many patches so quickly in succession before. The best advice for script/core mods is always to check back with the creator.

Just check Twallan's modes and there all showing as updated except for WrittenWord and NoCD.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.

NoCD has never required an update, ever, and works for patch 1.33.

I have the darndest time remembering to change [WrittenWord]'s version number apparently.  I did that for Patch 1.32 as well. :P
NRaas Industries.  Saving Sims games from becoming doorstops since 2009.
