Ah, so that's where all the 5K+ wishes came from! Congratulations on your win!

My first move in the game was to invite over Stile McGraw and Tamara Donner. Their wishes were Swimming in Cash and Living in the Lap of Luxury. Once they had moved in, I moved Agnes in, and their wishes were complete when I sold her car.
I then moved Judy Bunch and all of her children in, and like others, adopted a child and aged them up and her wish was complete.

A big part of my beginning strategy was having teens in the house and aging them up - that way I got to choose their Lifetime Wishes, rather than having to buy the reward "Change Lifetime Wish".

Lifetime Rewards were probably the biggest part of my strategy.
The most important one was Motive Mobile - I got one of these as soon as I could, and every time someone completed their lifetime wish, I'd get another if they had enough happiness points. This way, all 8 of my sims could eventually have one Motive Mobile each, and not ever have to worry about eating, sleeping, showering, going to the toilet or getting stressed.

The other lifetime rewards I used were (in order of how important I saw them):
  • Change Lifetime Wish: For Sims who, later in the game, had wishes I'd already completed
  • Mid-life Crisis: So I could change the traits of the Sims - all Sims that had a career related lifetime wish were given the workaholic trait so that they could work at home
  • Fast Learner: For Sims with skill related lifetime wishes, to help them learn faster
  • Collection Helper: Helped very much with the Monster Maker and Zoologist lifetime wishes

I think that's all there was to my strategy. Though I wish that I'd tried some of the Ambitions professions closer to the start of the game, rather than the end. I was only 2 cases of finishing the Pervasive Private Eye lifetime wish!

The "master X skill" is tricky, need to know how to fire them.  For example:
Handiness -- reach level 9 (with the tree), then have the sim upgrade 2 objects, that will fire the master handiness skill wish
Logic -- this one tricky, need to have one career that requires logic (like forensic dna), have the sim reach max career without maxing logic, that will fire the master logic skill wish.
Martial Arts -- reach level 9 with tree, then meditate like crazy, i don't remember how long i have to keep meditating before the master martial arts skill wish pop up.
Guitar/Instruments -- reach level 9 with tree, then find an audience of at least 6 and play the instrument to them, that will fire up the master instrument skill wish.

I see. The only way I previously knew to fire them was the second method you put - reaching level 10 in careers.

I chose to play in Sunset Valley because i know all the sims very well.  I chose to create my own clones for all the career caps, that I believe was the reason I can speed thru all the careers fast.

It certainly could be beneficial as most of the Union Cove sims don't have the critical Ambitious / Workaholic / Schmoozer combination which really speeds things up. I didn't think about moving them out and waiting for them to show up as bosses though, which was genius on your part! I used the existing Sims cause I saw the career LTWs as obstacles to get rid of ASAP, but there's definitely no harm waiting for them to become the boss ;)

I did the same thing, stiles and tamara, except I move in nick+vita+holly instead of agnes.  Sold the car and got the 2 LTWs knock out fast.

The most important one was Motive Mobile - I got one of these as soon as I could, and every time someone completed their lifetime wish, I'd get another if they had enough happiness points. hehe 8, nice.  I only got 2 the whole game, put them on lots so all my 8 sims can share.

  • Fast Learner: For Sims with skill related lifetime wishes, to help them learn faster

I only use the fast learner reward for one sim -- one sim band LTW sim.  The rest I rely on the tree of prosperity.

  • Collection Helper: Helped very much with the Monster Maker and Zoologist lifetime wishes

Only use collection helper for zoologist and perfect garden -- finding all the seeds, planted those with the highest qualities to speed things up.  Did not use collection helper for monster maker -- instead I make my monster maker a sculptor and had him sculpt all day long, bringing in my wishers -- until I have 120k points, bought all 3 simbots with points.

I think that's all there was to my strategy. Though I wish that I'd tried some of the Ambitions professions closer to the start of the game, rather than the end. I was only 2 cases of finishing the Pervasive Private Eye lifetime wish!

I didn't want to spend too much time micromanaging the private eye / firefighter, I knew those were hard.  So I left them and attack all the others that I know for sure I can get.

The only problem I ran into during this challenge was the cat herder and canine companion.  For some odd reason my counter on the LTW bar kept losing friends.  I would have 15 cat friends but on my counter only shows 7/15 and as time goes on it keeps going down, until it goes back to 0/15.  Then I device a strategy for this: Move in a completed LTW sim.  Adopt 6 cats from shelter, but do not talk/touch them.  Then move the completed LTW sim with the 6 cats to a house (remember which house you move him to).  Next repeat again with another sim plus 6 cats.  Next repeat again with another sim plus 3 cats.  Now I start the timeclock, I figure the counter keep losing count as time goes, so I was on a race.  I had the attractive reward, so making friends with the cats once I talk/pet to them wasn't hard.  I befriend the 3 cats, kick the sim + 3 cats out.  Then went to find the sim with 6 cats, move them back in, befriend and then kick them out.  Then find the last sim with 6 cats and move them in and befriend.  Whew finally beat the counter bug.

Unfortunately, I don't have whichever expansion has the tree of prosperity LTR.

I didn't even know you could complete the wish that way - you learn new things every day!

With the cat herder and canine companion, my bar kept going down too, but I think it's because over time the Sim and animal's friendship bar drops. So after a little bit, they're no longer friends, and you have to rebuild that relationship. My way to solve that issue was to make sure I wasn't just friends with them, but best friends.

The tree of prosperity is an item that came with Lunar Lakes.

Oh, I see. Thanks for that. I had a break from the Sims for a couple of months, and am still catching up with a few things!

Congratulations Nutella and all.

I had fun with this challenge, but got so tied up in finals, I forgot to come back in and post my score. I wouldn't have beat Nutella in LTW but I was close. Oh well- I completely failed because I didn't get my score in.  try not to get my pride in the way net time :)

Again, congrats to all who finished.
