Final Wishmasters Challenge: Wish Big!

Final Wishmasters Challenge: Wish Big!

Goal
I’ve removed the random element from the last two Wishmaster events and instead the focus is on your household completing as many different big wishes (worth at least 5k happiness) and Lifetime Wishes as possible.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • Create one Young Adult Sim.
  • No restrictions on adding to the household after you begin.
  • Your household is restricted to 24 total days vacation. Any household member on vacation counts as one day — i.e. 4 Sims on vacation for a 3-day vacation = 12 total days against your limit.
  • Please DO NOT ask for any clarifications if your question hints at strategy. You can always PM me.
  • The challenge ends at Week 12, Day 7, 11:59 PM.

Scoring
Another easy scoring challenge with just 2 scoring components. The first is the total of all completed different named regular wishes worth at least 5k points (5k + Wishes). As long as any part of the wish title is unique from other wishes, you can count it. Award yourself 1 point per regular unique 5k + wish completed.

The 2nd component is the total of unique Lifetime Wishes completed by your household. Keep in mind that no single Sim can complete more than one Lifetime Wish, so that's a big part of the strategy for this event. Award yourself 8 points per completed unique Lifetime Wish.

Add your 5k + Wishes and Lifetime Wishes together for your Total.

Haha. Yeah, I am looking forward to this one myself. Very simple in what has to be done, but not so simple in getting as much done as possible. Plenty of homework involved here. Good luck, Lena.

I like that it is has to be different wishes so we cannot just re-do the same wish over and over again.

I hope this doesn't go to strategy,
I presume we are allowed to remove members of the household and move in others?

Sounds pretty difficult, but I'll be sure to give it a try :D

Right. Removing household members falls into the "if there is not a ban you can do it" category. ;)

Oh my, let the research begin!

It seems that the challenges have been getting, from my point of view at least, "harder" as we've been going along. The Handiness Championship and Career Caps were (to me at least) relatively straightforward in terms of strategy and I found/am finding Attack of the Clones and Trophy Room tricky but still quite approachable. This looks like an incredibly difficult one. Then again, it's not called a challenge for nothing, I guess ;D

There's a lot of lifetime wishes that I haven't tried doing yet but would love to.  To me this challenge seems like so much fun that I'm considering doing it, even though I'm not planning on doing many 12 week full household challenges this year.

A question about the scoring: for the 5k+ wishes, do those count only for your original sim or may any 5k+ wish completed by any household member count toward the score as long as it is uniquely named?

All household members can contribute to both scoring components.

This sounds like a challenge I actually might be interested in! I do have some questions though.

The starting and ending dates are April 22nd to June 17th right? Does this mean that we have to start on that precise first date and end on exactly the latter date? I'm asking because I live in a different timezone, I live In New Zealand and we are roughly about a day ahead of America so the 22nd of April here would only be the 21st of April in America. I'm assuming the dates for the challenge are set to American timezone standards? Do I go by my timezone or American? Sorry for all the questions but this confuses me a little, I'm not exactly sure when to start and finish. Also I don't think it would take me almost 3 months to complete this challenge.

The challenge ends at Week 12, Day 7, 11:59 PM.

This means game time right? I never pay attention to it so I don't really know how to check it. I thought the challenge ends on June 17th so now I'm a little confused so does this mean I end the challenge then or by Week 12, Day 7, 11:59pm?

Sorry if this sounds like I'm being dumb but I've never played in a challenge that has a time limit and set dates so I find it to be a little confusing. :-[ The timezone difference is not helping

Your timezone. Whenever April 22 rolls around in New Zealand (about 1 month and 3 days) you can start.

That's in game time. The end date for submitting scores is 17 June. Our end date in game, when we total our scores, is Week 12, Day 7, at 11:59. You hover over the game clock to get the week and day. :)

Okay thanks Seabody, I think I got it, time to start working on a strategy, when I'm not playing in other games that is.  ;)

Nothing like a challenge tournament to expand your knowledge of the game! I have learnt so many intricate little bits about the game through testing and researching each challenge. There's still a few things that could be learnt by looking at some of the files using Sim3PE, or the game code, but I'm not interested in getting into that at this stage. We have plenty of members here who have a wealth of knowledge to raid in that respect :D

That said, I can see that the all-encompassing aspect of this challenge will make it quite tricky indeed. We may be forced to play sims differently than we normally do to learn about wishes we didn't know existed!
