23 unique LTW * 8 = 184 + 25 unique 5K+ wishes = 209 total.

Great job everyone who worked on this one. This has to be the hardest challenge I've done so far. And yes, I got the dreaded error 12 and I've never had them before at all.

This was a really fun challenge, but very time consuming to play.  When I started my practice, I got through week 3 and realized I wouldn't be able to finish a practice run and a game, so I stopped practicing and started the real game.  But I've had way to much overtime at work the last month or so, and I still didn't get done.

I'm out of time at Week 8 Day 4 with 24 unique LTW's and 29 unique 5k+ wishes, for a total score of 221.

I hate turning in an incomplete score, but I'm really excited about starting the Life State challenge - I have no clue how to get a mummy . . . I've never played a ghost . . . I've hardly played vampires . . . this will be fun!  I better start researching that mummy thing!

Didn't even get past week 3 on this one.  Too much micro-management of the micro-managing! So here's where I ended:

Lifetime Wishes: 6 X 8 points = 48 points
5,000+ Wishes: 15 X 1 point = 15 points
                                  Total  = 63 points

Wow! Congrats Nutella :) I do hope you tell us all those 5k wishes you did, and how you went about fitting in all the LTW. I think I have a pretty good idea, but I'd like to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Thanks all.  The trick to this challenge is obviously micro managing 6-8 sims for 12 weeks, and its a long and tedious process.

Trick #1 -- the "MARRY" trick.  Example:  Jack propose marriage to Jill, and after proposing -- you just need to wait 72 sim hours, the "Marry Jack" wish and "Marry Jill" wish will show up, at exactly 72 hours after proposal.  Sometimes the "marry xxx" wish will show up right after proposing, however its rare to show up on both toons, but if you wait 72 hours, you will see it.  The marry wish is worth 5k without the ambitious trait.

Trick #2 -- the "NAME CHANGE" trick.  I use this trick at around week 7/8, when I have less toons to micro manage since I finish up most of the LTW.  I would reinvite 2 couples (4 sims) back into the household -- these sims already have their ltw completed.  I would have the 2 couples break-up, then exchange partners, and do the propose marriage again.  After that, go to city hall during work hours and name change -- then sit around and wait 72 hours for the "marry xxx" to show up.  With the name change trick, you get 4 new 5k wish.

Trick #3 -- the "CAREER LVL 5" trick.  Obviously the rabbit hole career jobs takes a long time to complete, with my trick, the career will only takes 5-7 days to reach level 10.  Example: Whenever one of my sim have 65k hapiness points, I would use 20k for midlife crisis -- change to ambitious+workaholic+charismatic, then use 45k to purchase a clone.  Age up this clone and choose a LTW for him (5 star chef for this example).  I have the clone go join culinary career, then MOVE HIM OUT of the household.  The rest of the sims in my household (the max skills ltw sims) would go join culinary career until they see the "clone chef sim" as their boss.  Once the game picks them as boss, they automatically go to career level 5.  Then I would reinvite them back to join the household and play them.   So when they join, they already have the appropriate LTW (5 star chef), and have the workaholic trait so can work at home like crazy -- this trait is very important.

Trick #4 -- simfest.  With the magician, singer, acrobat career -- during simfest I would talk to all the performers, ask about career -- check to see what career level they are at.  Some are at level 1, some level 2, and when I find a sim that have level 5 and above -- invite them into household and play them.  Get 10k points - use change ltw to get the appropriate ltw for their career.

Trick #5 -- tree of prosperity.  This tree, makes leveling skills up a breeze.

That's all the tricks I could think of.  The game have 64 LTW, I completed 61, with only 3 I didn't attempt.
1)  Home Design Hotshot -- this one is quite impossible, I didn't even want to try.
2)  Pervasive Private Eye -- same as architect one, impossible.
3)  Great Explorer -- I have the bugged adventure board - couldn't finish this.  I had 11 adventures days left to spent, with my adventure board bug, I doubt i will finish it in 11 days - so I skip this one.
The rest of the LTW are pretty easy and straighforward, if anybody have questions ask away.

For the 157 5k+ wishes, here is my breakdown:
Marry xxx wishes -- 73
Master xxx skill wishes -- 20
Reach Level 10 in (or top of) xxx career -- 20

I just knew it had to be something really simple but genius. Of course I completed the marry xxx wishes but never thought to get xxx divorced and then remarry yyyy.

One day there will be a trick to one of these challanges that I will have actually figured out. Congratulations again to everyone who finished and managed to submit a score.

The mechanic I used for this was a bit different from Nutella's, though along the same lines, exploiting name-change tricks. I did it with the "Resurrect X" wish though. I had 8 plasmapunch gyroscopic conductors upgraded with the dimensional gates. Once most Sims had completed their LTWs, it basically became a genie lamp farm. Then:

1. Let's have two sims, "X" and "A1". X and A1 should be quite closely related.
2. Build a 3 x 2 room.
3. Place a leaking shower and a broken tv/electrical appliance in the room.
4. Have A1 repair the appliance. Of course this fails and he gets an electric shock.
5. Repeat step 3, A1 will die.
6. With some probability X spawns the wish "Resurrect A1"; not all the time though. It's worth 10k.
7. Quickly use a Genie Lamp wish to Resurrect Sim.
8. Teleport A1 to City Hall, change name to A2.
9. Repeat steps 4 through 8.

Could have scored higher; I only thought to do this around week 7 in the challenge, and only did this with one pair of Sims. The resurrection process hauled in 119 of my points for this category; I somehow wasn't able to get the various "master X skill" to fire all the time - had only eight of those - and missed out some of the sources detailed by Nutella (writing, and family related wishes).

As stated, most of the LTWs are easy, though not having Pets kills off quite a number, and I gave up on a few that perhaps I shouldn't have (the tomb one, some of the career caps, firefighter superhero, and surrounded by family - forgot that adoption can close this easily). I guess the only thing I can add to the strategy concerning this part was that I played in Union Cove, so I knew that some Sims would be ideal to look out for as they're some way up the career, have some relevant skills and already have the desired LTW (e.g. Damon Farrier for military, Steven Brustle for science, Tara James for medical), which may save some happiness points.

Congrats on very solid strategy, Nutella! ;D

Drift-

Yes resurrect!  I did the resurrect trick in my trial run, however I abandon it in my actual run.  I find that the dying causes everyone in my family to get a mood hit, while moodlet manager works on sims, it doesn't work on my pets.  Plus it was annoying, having to pass the moodlet manager to every sim in the household and cure and then my pets roam around crying about the dying sim ! Also I was running out of space on my lot -- i have many many tree of prosperity, and have 10 sims/pets on lot and also have a garden of the perfect trees.

The "master X skill" is tricky, need to know how to fire them.  For example:
Handiness -- reach level 9 (with the tree), then have the sim upgrade 2 objects, that will fire the master handiness skill wish
Logic -- this one tricky, need to have one career that requires logic (like forensic dna), have the sim reach max career without maxing logic, that will fire the master logic skill wish.
Martial Arts -- reach level 9 with tree, then meditate like crazy, i don't remember how long i have to keep meditating before the master martial arts skill wish pop up.
Guitar/Instruments -- reach level 9 with tree, then find an audience of at least 6 and play the instrument to them, that will fire up the master instrument skill wish.

The family related wishes are:
(1) Get married -- this one should be easy to get
(2) Have a child -- this one tricky, you need leighton sekemoto for this one.  He has the "surrounded by family" ltw + ambitious trait.  Without the ambitious trait this wish is only worth 4500.
(3) Have a boy -- get one of your married sim pregnant - then when pregnancy shows, the mom + dad will have a chance to get this wish.  If nothing pops up, keep trying for baby with another couple.  Once I have this wish, I would just adopt a boy to fulfill the wish instead of waiting for the pregnancy to give birth.
(4) Have a girl -- same as above
(5) Have first child -- this one just randomly shows up after you play a sim for a long time, like 5-7 sim days.  Not sure what fires this, I just had this popup.

The author one was crazy, lots of big wishes.  I had my author do children books.

You really should get pets drift - you did miss out on quite a few LTW.   Surrounded by family was super easy with Judy Bunch, when I invited her to household, she already have 2/5 on her LTW (ethan and lisa), all I did was cake up darlene and arlo (her kids too) and then adopt one child and cake him up too.  Her ltw was actually done in 3 sim hours.

I chose to play in Sunset Valley because i know all the sims very well.  I chose to create my own clones for all the career caps, that I believe was the reason I can speed thru all the careers fast.

With the family related wishes, I also fired one for "have 5 total children", as I had several days gap between child 4 and 5.

For the career caps, one of my very first sim in had the jack of all trades LTW, and as he was completing it I moved in all of his bosses in turn, who were obviously already level 5 and either had the right LTW or soon changed it.

Obviously I didn't do anywhere near as well as you two though, congratulations on such high scores! The marriage/divorce cycles and resurrections were genius ideas!

I never thought of using the marry xxx sim as separate wishes - it didn't occur to me that they would be considered different - so well done on that one! On my trials I made my first sim the family sim, so I could speed through sims with appropriately given traits and LTW, but it was getting too tedious. Nice pointer on Judy Bunch though ;)

After playing in nearly every town though, I decided Union Cove was best, because the sims LTW were more closely related to their current jobs and traits compared with EA towns. It became a matter of finding the highest sim in each career with the right LTW and pushing them through as quickly as possible. The tree of prosperity helped a lot with this one, as it meant that as soon as I moved a sim in, I could get their job metrics up to full green as quickly as possible.

The only wishes that I don't see mentioned that I did at least attempt before I ran out of time, are the mine some (50) gems/rocks/metals. I think the sim needs to have the decendant of da vinci to make these wishes fire, but they are worth about 17k.

Of course, as in most challenges, using a fast completing LTW to get a motive mobile on day 1 was a must.

The next thing I guess is to have a couple of sims near the start take the Firefighter LTW and the Private Eye LTW, because those can take a long time to complete. The micro managing is very tedious though. I got 2/3 to finishing the Private Eye wish in 2 weeks, but was having trouble with a few cases glitching, and the firefighter... well, if you played the hobos to heros race last year, you'd know how hard THAT can be to complete!

The combination of family oriented and hopeless romantic traits for a surrounded by family sim ensure that 'get married' and 'marry x sim' fire on the same day. Usually they roll the 'get married' wish early afternoon on the first day. As soon as they are engaged they get the 'marry x sim' wish. And as soon as they are married, get the wish 'have a child'. The 'have first child' was not reliable for me either though, and usually took too long to come up.
