Crashing Galore! - Runtime Error?
« on: March 13, 2012, 02:49:47 PM »
I've done everything to stop my crashing. Changed the DEP settings, did complete re installs, factory resets (including an actual factory reset of the entire laptop a while ago) but to no avail. I tried everything mentioned in this thread, and though a lot of the solutions there did help to eliminate crashing for a while, it's came back again.

I installed some mods - Twallan's Overwatch about a month ago, and ErrorTrap following the release of patch 1.31. I am patched up to patch 1.31 right now and have all SPs and EPs up until and including Town Life Stuff. ErrorTrap did a brilliant job of eliminating my crashes, and whenever my laptop would crash it would only be due to overheating. However, something that used to be a constant nuisance for me before has started to crop up again: My laptop crashes following a pop-up notification telling me about a 'Microsoft C+C Runtime Error'. The pop-up pops up long enough for me to read the title, and then the laptop crashes. Today this happened twice, after one minute of gameplay each time. This has happened once or twice when using the laptop for browsing the internet, but it usually happens during simming.

It's constantly doing this now, and I have no idea what this error is. It's obviously not a problem with the game, rather my system itself, but I was hoping someone here would know what it is and how I can fix it? I have a nagging feeling this is going to be bad news, and probably linked to my horrendous lack of memory. :( I'm running Windows Vista, if that helps.

Thanks to anyone that helps in advance. :)
