What is a Gig Schedule?
« on: March 13, 2012, 06:12:26 AM »
I've saw something like that underneath my sims work panel (he's a singer) but the list that apears stays empty.
Does it have any meaning, or is that for later?

The gig schedule is for when your performers have gigs to perform at in town. Once you are level 2, you can audition for a gig at the park and the coffee shop. In town view, there will be an icon for the proprietor of these venues and you click on it and audition. If they think you are good enough, they will ask you to come and perform on a certain day at a certain time. This gig will then be listed in your gig schedule so you don't forget. As you get more skilled, you will be able to play at better venues and sometimes the proprietor will give you a gig without even auditioning.

Thanks! How can I see if my sims is getting better at one of these 3 hidden skills, or is this only job related? I like to train my sim in all three skills: singing, acting and magician but I'm not sure now if this is possible.

Because it's a hidden skill, you can only see them getting better by advancing in their career. For that reason, I don't think you could train them in all three, because you have to be employed as a magician to actually do magician things, same for acrobat and singer, although a Sim can sing at the karaoke bar, so that might help.
Also, do you have just one person in the household? because if there is only one Sim in a household, you can't send them on tour to somebody else's game because there will be nobody to mind the house while they are gone.

5 persons. One male, one female, two horses and one dog. I had a cat, but that one vanished aparently, as he is no longer in the household, nor the family tree, only in the friend list of sims in the household.
So, the amount of sims shouldn't be the problem. Didn't know you couldn't send a sim if it's the only one in the household, though it sound logically as the family isn't playable for a moment anymore otherwise I assume.

lol, I thought it was rather silly that you can send a lone Sim on holiday, but you can't send a lone Sim on tour. Then Twindad (who doesn't even play Sims) said that holidays were still within the same game, but tours were outside of the normal game, so it made sense that you had to have someone at home as a placeholder so to speak.
