Should I get Sims 3 and Pets, or just Sims3?

I have $169.5(AU) and i would like to buy Sims 3 for my PC. now, if I buy Sims 3 and Sims 3 Pets for my PC, I will be left with $23.50(AU).
Should I get both, or just the one??
Sims 3= $98(AU)
Sims 3:Pets= $48(AU)

Please Help Me!

Well it's really up to you, but if you haven't played sims 3 before, I would recommend just buying the base sims 3 first, and play that for a while, then decide which expansion you want later. There's tons of content to explore in the base game alone.

I'd recommend buying The Sims 3 first because it's the base game, The Sims 3 Pets is an expansion pack and you need to install the base game before you can install expansion packs.

Why not get the Sims 3 Plus Pets?  Both are bundled together cheaper than bought separately.

My advice would be to buy just The Sims if you really like it and than watch a lot of YouTube videos about players playing ths expansions you are interested in.
Believe me, that helps.
Got me addicted to Skyrim, using this method.
