I've not got a big problem with it, and nowhere did I say that I think it breaks the teen rating but.. People, it has cherries on it! I mean, seriously? :P

The point I was trying to make was that if I download a piece of CC that is emphasising that 'feature' in such a way, and included it in my story in screenshots, I may have been told off, just like people that would feature those naked skin CC in their screenshots. That's the point I'm trying to make, this SP is including mildly dodgy stuff, and masking it with a 'sweet, innocent, childish' look. Some of us can see past that mask, I'm one of them.

Let me emphasise: I'm not actually overly bothered by it. It's just the way I see it, and to be fair I will probably throw it on an insane sim for a laugh. I'm just putting this in perspective.. The MSS lingerie was something that was rather criticized as well, but these cherries are kinda taking the biscuit. :P (Teehee, so much sweet references! ;D)

To break the off topic talk - No, anyone most certainly won't be told off just for using something like that in a story. As you said, MSS has more explicit and revealing clothes and it is not forbidden by any means. Then again, you may use vanilla stuff only and still get "told off"  for the story that includes language, insinuations and/or pictures that are not appropriate for our forum.  Most of us (both mods and members) knows where is the line that shouldn't be crossed.
About T rating - rating is considering average teen, not the more mature minority. Not shore if there is something cultural involved here, but I would expect this kind of reaction for dancers and bachelor parties from Generations, or public WooHoo when it came with LN, or MSS lingerie, rather then with some clothes that looks eatable. If someone finds not appropriate insinuation there, then it can be found everywhere ;).

On topic - I already decorated one room with food furniture from Showtime, and I really like those trees I saw in trailer.. I'll certainly create the cabin for the evil witch from Hansel and Gretel fairytale, and for clothes - LN and ST opened many opportunities to use them, plus I can already see my chef organizing the cooking party and with the magic of CAS guests will turn up dressed appropriately.  ;D

I stand corrected. I would be worried, if I was to ever use a CC piece (I don't use third-party stuff anyway, but if I did), that looked like this item in my story (Before these pictures were released) is all. I don't see it as breaking the teen rating, but a lot of other people do and that's where the line gets confused, because so many people have all these different opinions about where it's at. Also, sorry for off-topicness, I just wanted to clarify. I like to see things from everyone's point of view, and I've read far too much criticism for this stuff about this topic for it to not be a relevant issue. It clearly concerns a lot of people, so it's not like I've just made it up and chosen to spotlight it. Especially as I don't even agree with it.

Well.. Yes, it can be found everywhere. That's the problem with today's society. I completely understand that it looks like everyone's just being picky and choosy, and in this case I believe that's exactly the case, but I get where the people hating on this item are coming from. I don't think it's safe to say that it isn't everywhere because it certainly is, and it's a sad thing about the world.

Anyway, *stops off-topic talk*:

I have actually decided to make my one insane and childish immortal in my dynasty be deliberately obsessed with sweets in order to use up all this stuff and let it serve a purpose in my game! I shall make it that she is tricked into thinking that there is actual icing on the mountains in Hidden Springs. 8)

Then you can add to the "Weird Pics, Funny Stuff, Something old or Something New" thread and give the rest of the forum members a laugh. That and attract more readers to your dynasty. ;)

I bet this SP will add even more interesting outfits into the mix, of all the paparazzi, mixologists and other proprietors walking around. It might go great with their Marge Simpson hair-do, and free jester hat we got from the TS3 store. ;D

Is there an actual Marge Simpson hair do? Where's this, is it in this SP? Teehee, I wouldn't mind seeing the papparazi with it. 8)

I certainly can't answer for everyone but my dislike of this SP is coming from a different place and I'm sure there are at least a few players who agree.

For a while now I have just been so disappointed in the content that has been released. Outdoor life didn't do much for my play style, Generations didn't either since I don't play a lot of families. Town Life and Master Suite gave me a kind of I can take it or leave feeling. I thought the interactions for Pets was kind of light and I no longer even add Pets to my households. Then came showtime and more entertainment careers. It gave me the feeling that EA was tying into reality TV and shows like American Idol and I just don't like those kind of shows. Seriously, I'm a grown woman and I almost cried from disappointment when EA confirmed the Showtime EP.

So to me this SP is just more stuff that is frivolous and boring. It only adds content for some players when I feel like EA should be doing a little something for everyone.

Honestly, this is like the third time I have said this, but I'm not remotely too bothered about any rating stuff. I specifically said in the post that you quoted that I believe that people are just being picky and choosy about it. A lot of people have a problem with it, and I was just mentioning that they do but I specifically said that it wasn't something that bothered me, and it wasn't the reason why I'm disappointed with the EP. The real reason I'm disappointed with the EP is because I don't think I'll find the stuff very useful, I don't see the point in it being so pricey, and I feel that only a small minority of simmers are actually going to enjoy this which is kinda unfair. I just thought that mentioning a viewpoint belonging to other people that had been going around some places was relevant, but it's considered off-topic so it clearly is not relevant and so this'll be my last post about it, but to clarify - I do not share that viewpoint about the alleged explicitness, I was being lighthearted and the only thing I said that was actually my opinion was that the bikini was rather embarrassing, which is not the beef I have with the entire SP.

Sorry if I wasn't clear Fez, but I wasn't attributing the rating viewpoint to you. The rating issue doesn't bother me either. I was just saying why I don't like it.

My post is sightly different now, I thought I didn't explain myself properly so I went back to edit. I was just clarifying why I don't like it as well. :P I didn't mean to sound arrogant or anything, if that is the case. :-\ We'll need to drop this subject anyway because of the off-topicness.

So the song that comes with it, will that be a song on the radio or something your singer can sing?

I can totally agree with you on this subject. They used to design EP/SP that added stuff for everyone. Now it's like everything is focused on one little segment of the market at a time. And I'm not even sure it's a very successful approach, business speaking.

The content of this SP would be better suited for the online store in my opinion. There are a few items in this pack that I'm interested in: the evening/red carpet gown, the playground stuff with gingerbread men... Those are stuff I could see myself buying if it was in the store. But putting it in a disk-based release means it's an all or nothing situation. And I'm not sure that many players will be interested enough to buy everything, especially since it's more expensive than usual.

Then, with a 4-5 years frame of development for the game, they have only a limited number of EP/SP to cover everything they want to do with the game. Or better, everything we players - read clients - want to see. And 3 years after the initial release, the game is still lacking many key elements to let us experience a vibrant, rich, deep meaningful virtual world for our Sims. I could understand and "forgive" this the first year - project management, budgets, dead lines being what they are nowadays - but not anymore today. And I don't even speak about the instability and bug feast of the current state. So, this SP sounds rather like another missed opportunity to enlarge the experience. Instead, it's the easy road of targeting a micro "niche" market.

The worst is that I've always liked my Sims to be a bit fantasy and kitsch. A funky candy theme could have interested me if it had been this: candy/kid/fantasy and not only Katy Perry creative universe. This was not even preventing them from teaming up with her to advertise the SP. But it would have broadened the audience. They could have included new recipes, a candy store or even just a candy truck (like the ice cream one). I know it's just a SP and that they usually don't include functionalities in those. But this is a choice, not a technical limit. If they can release Premium Items on the store, they can certainly include some in SP too.

So, I'm very happy to see that at least some of you are happy with this SP and expecting it. I watch your joy and excitement with a pinch of envy, because it's a freshness I've lost a while ago. (And thank you for reading this wall of text, this should be my one rant post of the thread  ;))

People will really get mad at EA for anything, alot of people complain about everything that is released. When Pets was coming some people complained that the creature or Occult was a Unicorn(including me). Then it was why wasn't the showtime features put with Late Night, I'm not disappointed about anything that EA releases. We really have no idea what they have in store to release, I don't get the problem with this SP, it's new stuff it's not a rehash of The Sims 2. Now don't get me wrong I like some of the old stuff to, like magic, but I would just wait and see what EA has in store before I said I was disappointed. EA can only do so much at one time.

That's true. No matter what EA releases, they will always have people complaining. Sometimes, I think people complain just because they feel like it and have nothing better to do.

You could say that about anything. People complain about everything. In this case, it is the majority of simmers that are complaining, and that's quite a bad thing and proves that EA have made a mistake here. Similarly, EA could release anything and some people in the world would have to like it, that doesn't mean it's actually a good product.

Also, @Simslover, I don't recall people saying this is a rehash of sims 2? Not recently, anyway. I agree that we will have to wait and see what's in store, similar to what BellaClo said - if they've used one whole SP slot with this, I worry if the rest are going to be the good quality stuff the rest of us are looking for. I'll let this slip, and I will buy it to complete my collection but if they release another frivolous stuff pack then I'm just going to not bother buying it, collection or no collection.
