I've played the sims 3 for a long time now and I've never seen a tourist wondering around any of the cities... I don't have showtime either.  I'm still gonna give it a shot though.

I've seen them in every city, I think, but they do seem to be rarer since showtime.  Maybe they are more common in some cities than others?  I played [a certain city]* for quite a while, and they seemed fairly plentiful.  But then, this was just before I got showtime.

Maybe their numbers got adjusted with the patch that came out after Showtime, rather than with the actual expansion itself.

*Name withheld in case I am stragetically insensitive again.  Sorry, I know that phrase looks kind of dorky in context.

i suppose this is a good change, because never in my sims gameplay have I gone past two generations, so a legacy/dynasty, dominating the town with your family is too overwhelming for me.

Due to some major headaches players have been having revolving around finding absolutely no tourists in their towns I have decided to allow ONE 3-day vacation for the teacher.

Keep in mind that you still can only Woo hoo and Try For Baby with tourist Sims — Foreign Sims that come to your hometown invited or uninvited.

Special thanks to Blackrosea for twisting my arm for this rule change. I'm thinking it may have prevented nightmares and frustration for lots of folks.

Thank you Metropolis for changing the rules for people that were not getting tourists in their town.   Much appreciate it :)

Now that Cassanova can travel, he's wondering if he can try for baby during his travels.  Technically, he's the tourist at that point, so I'm thinking no, but he doesn't want to take my word for it.

As far as I understand it casanova can only woohoo and try for baby with tourists so that means he can't woohoo etc when he travels but he can at home but only with touists.

Correct. And the definition of Tourists for the purposes of this event are foreigners that come to the hometown either uninvited or invited.

Well if they were at home they would be locals as opposed to tourists. So woohoo try for baby with tourist good, woohoo try for baby with local bad.

Hi, I'm new to the forum but not new to the website, I have been using the website for a while :) Anyway, moving on. I have a question about this challenge, Can you have more than one child with any one tourist or can you only have one child per tourist? Thank you in advance

For what I understand who the mother is doesn't matter at all as long as it is a tourist. So there is no reason why you could't have more than one child with each tourist.

Well if they were at home they would be locals as opposed to tourists. So woohoo try for baby with tourist good, woohoo try for baby with local bad.

So we can't try for baby when we are on vacation? Only at home?

That is what I thought, it doesnt say in the rules that you *can't* have more than one child with a individual. I just wanted to make sure :)

Correct. If your teacher is visiting a WA location, then there are no Tourists, only explorers and locals. Technically, the explorers would be tourists to a given location as well, but let's not complicate the rules.
