Artie: "Now that you're a teenager, doll or not, there are rules in this house.   You've now officially be warned.  Take this Moodlet Manager.  You have until your Young Adult birthday to make your ice sculptures not melt. "
Reka: "You don't scare me, Grim."
Artie: "Then you're stupider than you look."


Painting, Painting, Painting..


Rica: "I guess we know Aker isn't the milkman's."


Prim: "Ow.  That didn't hurt a second ago."
Rica: "It'll stop hurting in a second.  I promise."


Rica: "Hey .. I told you to go get dressed not retire."
Prim: "I was just getting it out of the way.  I'm tired of the clinics and golf.  I want to enjoy my time with my husband."
Rica: "I can respect that.."


Aker: "Gramps I think you pulled out the wrong sign."
Artie: "Nonsense.  This is the retirement sign."
Aker: "I'm not sure I understand."
Rica: "I don't think anyone does."




Rica: "Huh.. I think I recognize that."
Aker: "It's a father and son fishing by a waterfall."
Rica: "Huh."


Reka: "Ha I win!"


Aker: "Barely!"


Reka: "Aker.. We're best friends, right?"
Aker: "Of course."
Reka: "We do everything together, right?"
Aker: "Usually. Why?"
Reka: "Then you're going to take me to the Prom right?"
Aker: "Sure! We'll have a great time."
Reka: "Good."
Rica: "Hrm"


Rica: "Hey check you out.  What's that picture?"
Prim: "It's my self portrait.  Not bad huh?"
Rica: "Not bad at all.  You want to put this up for your memorial."
Prim: "Yes I think that would be a great idea."


Rica: "Hey you're not horrible.. I think it works."
Amon: "Prim agrees."
Rica: "You been bulking up lately?"
Amon: "Huh? No?"
Rica: "Ok.


Rica: "Ok it's creepy how you two do so much together. "
Aker: "What's wrong Rica?"
Rica: "You both just supermaxed at the same second!"
Aker: "Oh.  I don't see a problem with it."
Reka: -internalizing-
Rica: -whistles- "Hey you.  dollface - time to start sculpting."
Reka: "Huh?"
Rica: "You.. back of property with a big block of clay.  Let's go."

A day or two later...


Reka: "Like my dress?  I had it made for you."
Aker: "It matches my tux!"
Reka: "Then you like it?"
Aker: "I love it. "
Rica: "You two ready?  I'd like to get Aker to the school still in his tux."
Reka: "Right.. let's go handsome."


Rica: "Woot! Success.  Have a good time guys."
Reka/Aker: "We will!"


Apparently they had a great time and came out a couple by the end of the night.


New swimsuit for Amon to show his new muscles.  I have no idea where they came from but it's kind of sexy in a way.


Ares and Artie look kind of sad next to the younger Grim.   I hate what old age has done my little red men.

The Long Awaited Museum Update!



My museum has been in plain site since the beginning.  Spanning the back of the property it goes from one end to the other.   Each room is decorated in the colors of the immortal and their spouse.   Generation 6's room is decorated in his color and his girlfriend's color.   Each room has 8 sides - 1 for the window to see in, 1 for extras and 6 for their lifestage pieces.


Overhead shot of Artie's room.  He has the most room so all the plasma fruit nectar is in here where no one can get it.


Artie never did get a shot in the photo booth with Christen which saddened me but he does have one of himself in his caveman suit.



Ares' Museum Room.   On his extras wall I keep the three certificates of partnership for each of his three visas. 



Apollo's Room - You can see his rewards for being in Shop Club afterschool.  It kept him busy while we did the waiting to age thing so he and Tama could be together again.



Angus' Museum Room - We put one of those Ivy things behind his head for each picture since he was my gardening Sim.  He was also the only one to go to scouts.  The picture of him in a swing was taken by Tama and I loved it so much we kept it here.



Amon's Museum Room - Not complete yet but only one more birthday to go.  Amon was the only Sim to do ballet in school.  He also keeps most of the riding trophies from his 1st place wins here.



Aker's Museum Room - Just the beginning and for some reason there are extra skill certificates on the wall that aren't there now.  The picture you see on this wall was one taken by Prim while Aker learned to talk but the photo said Talking Bird so I knew I couldn't use it for an official picture.  I kept it anyway.

And that's it for the tour.   Towards the end of the dynasty I will take pictures from ground level so you can see every picture, sculpture and portait - if you guys want.

Thanks!  I thought I had taken more pictures but apparently I didn't take the ground level ones that showed three stages at a time as I had originally thought I did.  Things are crazy in the home life - sister in surgery so I'm being loving/doting auntie - so that means sometimes updating is easier done than playing.  Plus I had over 300 pictures to go through when I woke up this morning that you guys hadn't seen yet.

I love your museum!! I can never settle on a good setup. I have changed mine 4 time already. I have something for spouses and the first gen kids, because without them, well, we would be no where. But I don't like it. Yours is GREAT!!! As always Rica is the greatest!!!!

I actually have a wall that holds a portrait of every person to live in the house.  In front of them is an ice sculpture each.   It's my memorial to the ones who don't get to stay.  The only person I've missed the chance to do that for was Prim's father but he never lived in the house and I could never actually get him to come over and get it done.

Okay, Reka is just too cute. I forgive her for being an imaginary friend doll. Also, I love your portraits! I should pay more attention to make sure mine come out all brightly lit and not fuzzy. I bet evil sims just love painting Grim portraits--red sims for a painter who loves to paint in red!

Aker spends a lot of time just painting small paintings while Reka sculpts.  He's already supermaxed but I would really like him to up his numbers since he's the one who will be painting all of gen 8 and probably most of if not all of gen 7.  The joy of watching him paint means sometimes I get one that's not like the others.


Alegra: "Wait.. what's this?"
Rica: "Happy Birthday !"
Alegra: "Already?"
Rica: "You have been around for a while.  Amon's birthday is coming up soon too."
Alegra: "Time flies when you're having fun I guess."
Rica: "That's a great way to look at it."


Rica: "There's nothing funnier than watching you guys do something stupid."
Reka: -screams for ep-


Aker: "It's just so.. perfect."
Rica: "What the heck is it?"
Aker: "A forest in autumn."
Rica: "You sure?"


Epic Music....
Rica: "Hey look at that.  You actually got your tongue free."
Reka: "Yes and I only have 18 more ice sculptures to go."
Rica: "We have a moodlet manager, we have the power."


Rica: "Reka!  Get back to the sculpting station."
Reka: "But it's a party."
Rica: "You have a deadline!  You need to prove yourself to Artie."
Reka: "Fine!"
Amon: "I'm about to lose my precious mus-cles aren't I ?"
Rica: "Yes.. unfortunately you are."
Amon: "I wish to not realize how sad that is."


Amon: -sees reflection- "Ah!"
Rica: "It's not that bad.  You're the first red one to not look horrible with gray hair but don't worry.  I'll give you back your hat."
Amon: "Oh thank goodness."


It's actually kind of sad to see him all droopy.  I really hated seeing Ares become an elder and I realize I didn't like Amon becoming one either.  Saggy man shoulders are just not cool!


In less than 24 hours, all of his elder masterpieces were done and put into the museum so he joined the band for a quick bite to eat.
Amon: "None of you are smiling.  This takes like horse manure doesn't it?"
Apollo: "Reminds me of cupcake clouds with a dash of sour grape."
Artie: "Meh.  It's ambrosia.. eat it."


Rica: "Aww.  Retiring?"
Amon: "I have to.  Look at the hair they're making me wear."
Rica: "We could change that."
Amon: "No I'm done.  Time to spend extra time with my wife."
Rica: "Go get 'er cowboy."


Reka: "And done.. "
Rica: "Nice.. two days to spare before your birthday too. Right on schedule."
Reka: "So now can I go kick that pompous red old fart right in the ankle."
Rica: "No."
Reka: "You're not fun at all!" -huffs off-
Artie: "Aww.. I would have promised not to kill her.  I'd just like to see her try while I'm holding the chainsaw."

Now here's a little surprise that I don't think any of you saw coming.   I love my house, lots of you love the house.   

I got rid of the house.   Meet the newly renovated Grim property.


I loved the house in it's previous setting but I was having some issues fitting things in for all the people in the house.  I still feel like I didn't have enough room but I'm not getting rid of the memorial wall or the gnome graveyard.


For once, we actually have a place to put the horses and all their earned rewards.  It also means I don't have to worry about them living at the horse ranch on the other side of town.


The horses also get a new place to run, right around the baby corral where infant Grims her LTHP due to incense, fire & fridge!


 Everyone gets a new tent!  The tents give the best sleeping moodlet so now every sleeps like Kings and queens.  This is Artie's, Ares' and Apollo's.


Angus's, Amon's and Aker's.   


The kitchen redone with room for the family's three replicators.  And room for Artie to dance when there's a party going on.


The party area and living room.  I loved the living room so I basically just moved it outside exactly as it was inside.


The garden and zen space were also moved to the corner.  The two little rooms you see there both hold a Not-So-Routine Machine each for the mornings when someone actually has to go to work.


Meet the Art Area - I have three sculptures and three painters (two are both actually) so we needed lots of room.  I almost can't wait for the day when it's only one sculptor and one painter.. almost.


Last but not least is the wedding area of which I only expect to have one more wedding.  The chairs have been reconfigured into the shape of a heart and off to the side is the wall de prom.  I just deleted every memory in my household again and I forgot that when you delete prom pictures of more than one person that you lose the picture so Prim's is blank and so are both Aker and Reka's.   The one shelf is Dakota as she ended up with two pictures because of a random incident where I told her to do something and she left prom to do it!  How dare she.  She had just gotten there.

Alegra: "This is best thing ever.  Why didn't I get one of these before!?"


Amon: -glares at ring- "Don't you dare ruin my hair."
Rica: "It's ok.  You're jumping once and then I'm putting back into the family inventory to get back my space."
Amon: "Oh.  Why am I doing this then?"
Rica: "You asked for it!"


Rica: "Just because I gave you guys a break doesn't mean you can just sit around."
Artie: "Leave them alone woman.."
Rica: "You know usually you're not so easy going about this type of stuff."
Artie: "They're just enjoying the meteor show.  The party is about to begin.   Besides what's the worst that could happen?"


Aker: "For you, my sweet."
Reka: "Oh!  They're gorgeous."
Aker: "Will you do me the honor of escorting me to the cakes?"
Reka: "Well of course."


Rica: "And what are you thinking about so hard over there missy?"
Reka: -shakes herself out of her reverie- "Oh nothing.  Just can't believe we're blowing out candles that's all."


Reka: -through clenched teeth, smiling- "So how bad is it?"
Rica: "Could have been worse and it's nothing we can't fix with a little trip to the vanity.  Let's watch the sparkles attack Aker now."


Aker: "You have got to be kidding me!  I was a knight a second ago and now I'm a.. I'm a.. I don't even know what I am anymore!"
Rica: "Melodramatic.  Go stand in line for the mirror."
Aker: "I can't believe people get to see me like this."
Rica: "Shh.. calm down."


Not bad for a former Doll. 


With permission from Maccy Simself, Aker decided to return to his pirating ways.   For some reason I just had to put him in the cupid outfit though.

I love the tents and outdoor living. Your Simmies won't enjoy incense as much, but at this stage that hardly counts.
(Aw! This reminds me of something that I wanted to ask you a long time ago. Did you get incense from the WA catalogue, rather than travel, when you first started out? I remember seeing it in your early chapters at a time when the second generation was not a YA yet.)
I'm totally with Amon on his fear of losing those hard fought for muscles. The requirement for immortals to become elders first annoys me big time.

You can buy incense at the Consignment Store sometimes. Great updates Rica!  Very clever idea, I think I'd have a house reforming itself within a week though.. Lol!

There's no room for a house so I can't be tempted to build one.  That's the genius of it.   As for the incense, early on I was only able to get some of them especially several of the french ones.  I think those things were everywhere!

Yeah, they never seem to sell the Chinese ones. Mainly the French ones. Hmm, It'd still be very tough not to make a floating house though..  Or a basement house.
