It started with Diana, she tried three times, she failed three times. Her Great-Grand-Daughter, Shannon, tried once, she failed once. Shannon's Great-Grandson, Tristan, tried once, he failed once. Tristan doesn't give up, he's trying again. This time he will complete the challenge set by Diana. This is his Story.

Prologue, Part 1 -  How the Fifth Ended

"The last time you heard about me I was becoming Immortal. My name is Tristan, if you hadn't already realised, if you thought I was Erik, well you're wrong. Apparently I am insane, I disagree - or do I agree? Can't remember. It was amazing, the Ambrosia. It was just as they all said it would be, Heaven on Earth. It makes you see everything differently, it makes you see the World in a way that is clear, undisturbed by the flow of political propaganda and you see life for what it truly is.



I need to fill you in on what happened. Things of beauty filled this space, things that I wish would last forever. Yet these things never work. My Son, the flightless Dragon, he met a woman. A beautiful Woman and in a flapping of wings they spiralled into love, he went away to China and brought back the love of his life.



Her name was Sun Young Kim, she truly was a beauty, her personality was equal in beauty.



They were married shortly on return to Hidden Springs, it was a memory that will forever be lodged in the Guests minds. Both of the happy couple beaming from ear to ear and enjoying life.



The patter of small feet was soon heard, although nothing was certain, we all had our suspicions. I couldn't wait, to see my Grandchild.



I was not there when Sun went into labour, Dragon was with her and got her to the Hospital in time. They had been on a date up at Louie Falls, enjoying the Sun and the crashing water from the falls. It was lucky anyone heard her scream over the roar of the falls.



A beautiful Baby Girl was born into our family, she was named Candle. It was hoped that she would be a Candle of Hope in the Darkness that was starting to fall upon our Home. Our little beacon of light came to late and to small, the darkness kept falling. All we could do was wait and watch it happen, we spent every single moment with our little Candle.





In our desperation we had turned to the Magical Kingdom. We begged the Unicorn to help us. I was rejected time after time. Then for some miraculous reason, the Unicorn agreed to help. It blessed me and my family against the Darkness. It said a price had to be paid to keep them safe though, I asked it if that price was my life. It said that was not the price. It never told me what the price would be.



It told me it would take me home and to get on its back. I did so, thinking it would be unwise to reject the Creature which had just saved my family.



My Son came out when he saw us approaching. He had my Granddaughter in his Arms, she was sleeping softly. He looked at me in shock. I hadn't realised that the Unicorn was glowing. I started to panic, not knowing if this was normal for a Unicorn or not.



The light grew blinding and I passed out. The last thing I saw was my Son, the flightless Dragon, shielding our Candle from the light which outshone even hers.



They never found out what happened to me. I just vanished, they never stopped looking but eventually they had to. The Unicorn stayed with them, it never spoke or did anything to communicate with them. If I had stayed I would have seen my Candle grow up into a little Toddler, I would have seen that she looked just like me with her Ginger hair, that she had her Fathers eyes and her Mothers face. I would have seen my Moons saving the life of my best-friend. I didn't though. I gave away my life with them to save them.





I would have seen so much more, so much of their lives I have missed and am missing. I was taken away from them to save them. I am the one who drew the Darkness for my Immortality. I don't know how it found us but it did. I must have messed up somewhere, maybe the Magic in Hidden Springs isn't all good, maybe there are bad Spirits as there are good. All I know is that I don't know where I am now. I keep seeing the images of my life flash around in my head, I see nothing else but those images, the images of my ancestors and I see the blinding light of the Unicorn. "

Prologue, Part 2 -  The Sixth Attempt

"I guess you could say that when I woke up I started ranting about bright lights and Unicorns. It's good nobody was around, they would have thought I was insane! "

That's because you are Tris. I thought we'd established this?

"Uhg. I thought you got left behind where you wouldn't interrupt me all the time."

You're so kind. Don't worry though, I think I'll let you narrate a little bit more. How can I expect to know what goes on inside your head anyway.

"Thank you. Apologies for that rude interruption by a certain Watcher. When I woke up I had no idea where I was or what was happening. Things were definitely not right. I was shocked out of my mind when I realised I was standing up straight and I even had a slight spring in my step. I was young again. Young and very angry at a certain Unicorn."



"Although not so angry that I was young again... My first thought was that I had a new disguise. I still looked the same though, well I felt my face and it felt the same as it used to. My toes also felt the same so I guess the Unicorn thought making me younger would be a good enough disguise."

"Then I got to the top of the hill and my disguise suddenly felt very unimportant. I was in the middle of a strange place. We're a long way from Hidden Springs now, I'm a long way from home and a long way from my Family. I have to assume that by the irritating voice that I am here to start over, to attempt the same challenge again. I will agree and I will do it. I must do it."



"I have also decided on one very important thing - Never Trust a Unicorn."

     Tristan...

Thank you Fez! It's Starlight Shores. I was going to choose Appaloosa Plains but it just didn't feel right. SS is actually better than I thought so far. Despite there being next to no skilled Sims in the town.
