You know what Blanchflower: percentages of whatever collectable calculted in the skill book seem to be bugged. I have that to, on multiple levels unfortuniatly. Fishing, handiness, cooking, and just like you: collecting. All seem to give different percentages than the complete amount of whatever collectables you already have caught. The list of what you've got is full, nothing can be added at this point of gameplay and expansions, but the description is wrong.

Oh, this isn't trickred with the mod actually. I've got this problem right before uploading Max Skills, so I've decided to just upload him as he was already: competed, although the description said otherwise.

And some game developers are just more quick or fond when it comes to fixing bugs. From what I've heard about Blizzard (from World of Worldcraft): they are very quick when it comes to bug fixing and Bethesta (from Skyim and the rest of the Elder Scrolls) is even supporting mods in their to-fix bug list.
I just think Electronic Arts has their... own... way, for whatever that is. ;)

Thanks for the kind reply. So it seems that there is no point in starting all over again, right? I should be more compromising when it comes to Sims 3, right?

By the way, I have gone too far in the game to start all over again. I mean, I have maximized all the musical skill achievements, cooking skills, handiness, sculpting, inventing, martial arts, athletic ability, photography and gardening!

I guess I have to lower down my standards of gameplay when it comes to Sims 3.

I am bitterly disappointed as I love this game too much. Yes, you can call me a hardcore Sims 3 player and no way I am a casual player of this game.

I just hope EA fixes these bugs but I am not too optimistic about this.

This is just such a pity. I guess I will continue playing with my saved game until EA fixes these bugs. Then, I don't mind starting all over again to achieve that "perfect" Sim!

Starting over or not is of course your own decision. I doubt if these bugs ever get fixed as they don't eat at the too of EA her bug list. Otherwise it was already fixed.
Well, at least you got a whole supermaxed of experience.
But fell me: have you really supremacist photography, with all the photo collections and such?

Yes, although I am at level 10 in the photograph skill, I have yet to capture every type of photograph. That is too difficult. But for the other skills which I am at level 10, everything is perfect.

I would like to know, if you were in my shoes what would you do? Will you start all over again? I can see that you are also a hardcore Sims 3 player and won't settle for anything less!

True, bringing the P in Perfect can't be done with half work, but this is out of our reach: we both know that you've completed everthing out of everything eventhough the percentages says everything.
What I should have done... I think I start over with a test sim to see what will happen when I've collected everything.
Or I would start over with a brand new sim and scip the bugged skills for a moment. The instruments seems to be fine, no bugs in them, so just like before I would focus on those first. Than I would do the rest and wait with the bugged skills.
Speaking of that: some may have reported that the photographic skill also is bugged; they can't complete certain collections. Very strange.

Yes, I have come across the "Shutternut" bug. When I completed 2 sets of photographs, I decided to travel and the 2 became 1. Then I installed Twallan's traveler mod and this seems to fix the issue. So I started all over again.

I hope EA does something about these bugs. This game has so much potential to be a classic but the bugs (which Twallan fixed most of them with his mod) are ruining my experience. I can't believe that a 3rd party Sims 3 gamer has the ability to fix these bugs but not EA!

As for the unique analyzed rocks, if you install Twallan's traveler mod BEFORE analyzing the rocks, the issue seems to be fixed. That means that if you analyze 100% of the rocks, it will show in bold under the awesome collector of the universe. Even if your Sim decides to travel after that, the percentage will still be 100% and not 121% if you have installed this traveler mod.

I guess Twallan should work for EA!  ;D

Or vica cersa. :P Thanks for the tip. I will see if I'll install that mod.
I had a bad experience with one of those lately so I'll be careful with them.

Somewhat old topic, but I've made a new mod. This is a scripted object which will allow you to pop Gig opportunities for your sims. It's available at Simlogical: Late Night Gig Scheduler Deluxe: Be your own agent!

This is a great idea, but it's not working for me (using patch 1.36). When I click on the object with a bandmember who has the skill opportunity slot open, I only get the hand icon and the "no interactions available" message. Using it with a bandmember who HAS a skill opportunity already shows the menus, but of course everything is greyed out. Anyone else using this under the newest patch?

Hi Korva. If you could please report this issue at the Simlogical forum, we can try to troubleshoot it there. I don't think this is the appropriate forum.

When you post about the gig scheduler, can you let me know what neighborhood you're playing in, and whether the neighborhood has all the Late Night bar venues? Also, please let me know what opportunity the other band member has. If you're not playing in Bridgeport, it would be great if you could let me know if you do get the problem in Bridgeport. Bridgeport is my testing hood for this mod, because I know it has all required LN venues.

Edit: Please also include whether any band member has ever completed a gig opportunity.

Edit2: I actually think I know exactly what the problem is, so to save you the hassle: Most likely, your one sim has the only opportunity available at the moment. This part is not so intuitive, but, if your sim has a skill opportunity, and checks the board, it will ALWAYS say "You already have a skill opportunity," and show all the options. I couldn't get that part to go away. So basically, your one sim has the only band/gig opportunity available.

It wasn't about opportunities, no, the household had no active band or instrument opportunities. I still can't get it to work in the world that my band household lives in, but it works fine in other worlds, both custom and EA-made, regardless of the number or type of LN venues (as long as there is at least one, of course). So sorry about the false alarm.  :(
