There are some really really good buildings here! I'll try to get something up by the weekend, but I just saw this one today... hope I can make it!

I will be unable to compete in any further contests due to a catastrophic graphic card failure and lack of funds to replace :(

Kindest Regards
KJ

We have decided to extend this Contest till Thursday 29th of March at 11:59pm. This is due to the new Showtime Venues being difficult to set up and have work properly. We hope this will be a one off occurrence of extending the deadline.

Building Contests 2012: 5 - A Place to Perform

You must read the Rules and Instructions Thread first, if you haven't already.

Your Task:
The Curtains are up, the lights are on and the crowds are gathered. It will soon be Showtime, however there is one small problem in the whole plan of things. There isn't a Venue? How can you perform without a Venue! We need your help to provide the budding musicians out there a place to show off their talents! Can you rise to the challenge to help them rise to fame?

Specifications:
  • Lot Type: Community
  • Budget: None
  • Lot Size: Any
  • Other: Must have:
    • A Stage of any form, be it foundation, platform or any other method.
    • Musical Items, e.g Stereos and Instruments on the Lot
    • You may not just use a Large Venue to enter, it must be a Private Venue, Live Show Venue or a Coffee House.

Technical Details:
  • If you do not own The Sims 3 Showtime you can still enter and we would love for you to do so. If you set your Lot as a Hangout/Park or ordinary Community Lot.
  • Those with The Sims 3 Late Night but not The Sims 3 Showtime can also set their Lots to be any of the Lot Types from Late Night, if they wish.

Contest Start Date: 12:00am, Monday, March 12, 2012
Contest End Date: 11:59pm, Thursday, March 29, 2012 (Extended)

Thank you to everyone who participated in this building contest, we hope that you look forward to and take part in the future 2012 Contests and enjoy the challenges whilst also practising your skills!

Building Contest 2012: 5 - The Place to Perform - March 12, 2012 - March 29, 2012
    Agneza!

Congratulations Agneza! What a stunning place to perform, I'm sure you've just allowed many Sims to get their shot at fame! You can see Agneza's Entry here and download it here.

Agneza's Comment:

"Thanks to everybody who voted for me and a big congrats to all who partecipated to this contest - all the works are great!. The time I builded the Colors Bubble I didn't have the Showtime expansion. I didn't know how the stage looks like nor how big it is. It was a pure luck I builded the stage that big. The stage floor which came with the Showtime matched perfectly my stage.
The world of the performers is quite known to me so I really enjoyed building that community lot as I'm enjoying playing it now."

Congratulations Agneza! This thread is now open for comments!  :)

I'm not back on my vacation yet, but my grandma has a MacBook Air that I can use so... here I am! ;D

Congrats Agneza! I'm surprised I did so well; this is the first time I've been in the top three. Hm... I can't seem to tell why I never do that well in these contests. ...anyways I'm open to any comments and suggestions. :D

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

Maybe you just need to take part more...  ;) Besides it's not about winning, it's for the experience and the challenge!

Yeah... I'm probably going to try that Goth Restoration thing. I can't make it modern because the roof can't be deleted (In my opinion, not the best rule but that's my opinion) so I'm going to try restoring it. I'm definitely going to gut the exterior... doesn't have a graveyard? Blechh. But back on topic, I can take suggestions and stuff. I thought I did a really good job on this one, although I think my coffee cup fountain could have used some work.

@Gogo: I liked how you included the diner thing from Town Life, and I loved the outdoor area. I think the wooden flooring was a little intense though, particuarily because each board was a different color. I liked it overall because of the style though. :)

Congratulations Agneza! I absolutely love that stage  :D. Now, let's see...

Zapkid: Great job as usual, I loved the outdoor seating and that fountain is adorable.
Gogo: Using the bistro and billboard was brilliant. I think my favourite part of your build was the outdoor seating.

I'm open to comments as usual. I wasn't really sure if I did a good job on this build or not - I loved the shell, but I wasn't counting on having a massive stage and I think it ended up too cramped.  :P

Thank you! I loved the shell! It was so creative. I thought the stage was very nice.

Zap: That coffee cup fountain was awesome! The inside was a bit bare and boring.
