NPC's

Is there a place that lists all the people that inhabit Sunset Valley and Riverview at the start of the game, and their traits and jobs etc?

Just to clarify a little...  on this Forum, NPC refers to the Sims that are the maids, police, firefighters, pizza deliverers, repairmen, burglars, etc.  The families that always live in town at the start of a game are Townies.

Ok, I wasn't sure if I should ask this question under this thread or not, so if the administrators or moderators think it should be moved, then I will leave that up to their discretion.

I was wondering if a new thread should be started or if there is already one in existence for sharing with each other the traits that we have uncovered for our Sims? My idea was that for those of us who are having problems getting to know all of the traits of the Sims, then we can ask here on the forum if somebody else knows. I know the guide book has many of the town people listed, but there are new Sims popping up in my game all the time that aren't listed. I wasn't sure if this idea would be a good one or not or if it might "spoil" it for some who would rather discover things on their own.

No, what I am talking about is to help each other out with the individual Sims that we meet and want to get to know. Like for instance I want to get to know the traits for a Sim not listed in the guide book, Gwen Glover is her name I think, and no matter how much I interact with her I can only reveal 3 of her traits. So, if anybody on the forum know the other remaining 2 traits, they could share that with me.

The link that samoht posted shows all traits available in the vanilla Sims 3 game.  It doesn't include the new World Adventures traits, which is something I'll talk to Carl about adding.

I know the guide book has many of the town people listed, but there are new Sims popping up in my game all the time that aren't listed. I wasn't sure if this idea would be a good one or not or if it might "spoil" it for some who would rather discover things on their own.

The Sims that you're talking are probably the new random Sims that come into town as part of story progression.  I think they are different in each game.  I don't think I've encountered the same one in different games unless they are the original townsfolk.  So, a list of these Sims' traits wouldn't be any good.  Are you wanting to know all the traits in the game or are you looking for traits of specific Sims?

Oh!  I know what you're doing!  If this is for the challenge, it won't count if someone else just tells you the traits.  But there's another thread that addresses this particular issue.

No...no I am not asking with participating in a challenge on my mind. I was merely asking purely for the reason I posted above. I know about the "Getting to Know" thread, I have shared in the discussion there previously. No, my post here on this thread today was sparked because of the discussion that was asked about the townies and learning their traits and jobs and stuff.
I am glad I asked first about starting a thread about sharing individual Sims's traits that we have uncovered. I can see why that would be unfair for those participating in the challenges. I never even gave challenges a thought because I have not participated in any of them yet. I don't feel skilled enough yet to try them.

Actually it would not matter at all for the particular challenge that Pam mentioned. In that challenge you need to open your Charisma skill journal for the Traits Learned stat. So, whether you know them in advance or not does not change that score.

Maybe this link will help you? www.sims.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Sunset_Valley_families

Thanks Illuminator that is basically what I was looking for.

Sorry Pam due to my RPG background I tend to call any character that isn't being played an NPC. I'll remember in the future. :)
