Ch. 11: Expectant

Charlie couldn’t help but notice how distraught his new bride was after the death of her mother. Angel placed Claire’s tomb just outside the front door, and Angel built up a garden around her. Gardening helped her cope by giving her mind something else on which to focus.

So in the wake of Claire’s death, Charlie took Angel on that trip to France he promised her. The couple spent the first day at the museum. Seeing all of the wonderful paintings and sculptures made Angel miss her mother. How Claire would have loved to be there. Angel started crying.

“Angel, are you alright?”

Angel sniffled, “I miss her. I wish she could have come here with us. She would have loved all the sights.”

“But she is here, Angel,” soothed Charlie. “She’s here in spirit.”

“I know that.” She took a deep breath and straightened up. Charlie thought Angel’s eyes looked so much greener after she cried. “Let’s go have some fun, okay?”

Charlie smiled at her. “That sounds great hon--”

Angel suddenly jumped into Charlie’s arms. Thankfully, he caught her despite his surprise. Yes, fun, thought Charlie, that’s exactly what Angel needs.

Angel mentioned that she wanted to collect some grapes from the nectary so she could add them to the garden when they returned home. Charlie realized that was Angel’s way of expressing she wanted some alone time, and they parted ways. Angel did just what she said and headed to the nectary to harvest some grapes.

Charlie went to the market and mingled with some locals. He was hoping he could incorporate French culture into one of his future books. One kind local offered to teach Charlie a French song

Later that evening, Angel arrived at the market. Charlie said he had a special place in mind to spend the night. It was far away from the hustle and bustle of the market, so all they could hear were the insects and the wind. The scenery provided a superb environment for a ghost story. Angel found Charlie’s story more humorous than scary, though. He should stick to children’s books.

The night was magical. The two of them sat at the campfire and thought back to when they were children. Angel had always had a crush on Charlie, but he was so clueless as a child.

But they were adults now, and they were married. Charlie wasn’t so clueless that he couldn’t pick up on a few obvious signals.

The vacation soon came to a close. On the morning before returning home, Charlie and Angel spent one last breakfast at their favorite bistro. Angel vowed to learn how to cook the crepes she ate there each morning. They were so delicious!

Angel felt the trip was too short, but it was a good thing they came home when they did. That night, she found herself expecting.

Sorry for going so long without updating. I've just finished my school finals and I've also finished moving (mostly) so I'll be slowly getting back to my stories.

It's wonderful to read about these sims again! I agree with alex, that picture of them about to kiss is gorgeous. :D I'm glad Angel seems to be moving on from her mother's death. Poor thing.

Thank you everyone! My schedule has finally slowed down for the summer, and I can't wait to get back to simming. And I can't believe how nicely that picture of Angel and Charlie about to kiss came out. Night time campfires really give some awesome lighting, even in sims. :)

I agree with everyone else...so glad to see this story again! Your story has inspired me to revisit Sunset Valley. Thank you! Sadly Claire's daughter in my game isn't as lovely. Looking forward to reading more. Your screen of the pre-kiss is the best I've seen.

I also agree with everyone else, this story is one of my favourites and I was glad to see a new update. Can't wait to see the nooboo! Crossing my fingers it is a girl, I love the clothing and hairstyles they have for girls, especially as toddlers and children.

Ch. 12: An Unexpected and Unwanted Memory

Angel’s pregnancy zipped by. Charlie was as accommodating as any obsessed father-to-be could be, and he cooked and cleaned, but Angel wouldn’t let him touch the garden. He might assume that it was okay for a mouse to be in the garden, just like it was okay for a mouse to be at his computer desk.

Angel and Charlie went next door to Diana’s to share the good news, but everyone was surprised when Diana had her birthday and aged up.

Diana had transitioned into Elderhood while her own child was transitioning into fatherhood. Diana could not have been prouder of her Charlie.

Even Allison was starting to act more and more like an adult. She brought home a boy from her childhood, Quinton Jolina. Diana knew the drill. Allison and Quinton were going steady.

However, Diana wasn’t sure what to think of Quinton. The lovebirds took roost on the living room couch, and Diana couldn’t help but notice some of the expressions on the two of them. Quinton may not have been the brightest crayon in the box, but Allison was in love.

Before anyone was ready, Angel went into labor. What better time to have a baby than in the middle of the night?

Angel wanted to go to the hospital to have her baby, but Charlie convinced her to stay home. He could take care of her. Angel just finished getting dressed and dolled up (for whatever reason) when the baby said, “No more! I’m coming out!”

Angel was relieved when she finally finished labor and held her little boy, Alex.

At least she was relieved until she went into labor again. Angel and Charlie had twins! The little girl was named Brooke.

The guest bedroom was remodeled for the twins. It was a small room that needed some expansion, but it would be fine until they were children.

Angel couldn’t get over how wonderful Charlie was with the twins. He catered to their every need and then some more.

Angel found herself with time on her hands! She was able to get back to cooking and she was able to pursue her new love of Nectar Making. Angel used her garden fruits to make her own Nectar. Her first few batches certainly weren’t as good as the ones she had brought home with her from France, but she eventually found a nice blend that was delicious. Angel probably should have taken care of the broken dishwasher first, but the Nectar was divine.

Once the twins were down for a nap, Charlie was finally able to go over to Diana’s.

“Hey Mom,” he said. Diana could clearly tell how exhausted he was.

Diana gave him a hug but could barely support him. “Charlie, I’m old now! You can’t just collapse on me, you know.”

“Sorry,” Charlie sighed. He took a step back and pulled a small box out from wherever he was hiding it. “I got something for you.”

Diana smiled, “How did you ever get the time to do that?”

“When we went shopping to decorate the guest room for the twins, I found this. I just thought you might like it,” Charlie explained.

“You know you didn’t have to do that.”

“I know.” Charlie smiled. “I really don’t have much time to visit though, Mom. I gotta get back home.”

“Well alright, dear. You go home and get some rest. Thank you very much for the gift.”

Charlie turned slowly and fumbled a bit at the door. He really was just worn down.

Diana sat down and pulled the red bow apart. The package was kind of heavy as it sat in her lap. What could it be? Diana thought. After pulling the top off and setting it on the coffee table, Diana pulled away the white wrapping paper. “Oh…” she said softly.

She found something all too familiar inside. This wasn’t good.

Ooh! I wonder what's in the box... Quinton's expression when they were sitting on the couch cracked me up. Welcome twins! Great chapter, wonderful story as always.
