Read a Pregnacy Book

My sim wish to read a pregnancy book. However, I can't find this category of book in the book store.
Where can it be bought or found?

There isn't a dedicated pregnancy section for books. I can't remember if they're filed under Non-Fiction or Child Development, but look for a couple books titled:

Totally Preggers
Baby Incoming

You can also read them at the library if funds are tight.

In Bookstore they are in Misc books and are called...

Totally Preggers and Baby Incoming.

All they do is give you happiness points if your Sim has a wish to read one.  Other then that, they are useless.

Some say it helps your sim have a 'good' pregnancy and therefore choose your babies traits etc.

I think it's good for pregnancy because it gives you hapiness points. There is a rumour which says that it will increase your chance of having twins.

Never heard that! I have only heard that kids TV and radio channels increase chances of twins.

Both of those rumors are false.  The books do not help make a good pregnancy.  The factors for that are keeping the mother happy, well rested, and stress free.  The books also do not help make twins.  Watching KidZone TV is the one that helps multiple births.
