Children can't collect seeds?
« on: March 09, 2012, 06:04:18 AM »
My twins finally reached the child stage, and I was a bit disappointed to find out they can't pick up seeds. Why is that? It seems they can collect other collectables like rocks and bugs. Is this supposed to be like this, or did this get "broken" at some point? I read some game guides online and they suggested using children to get collectibles (including seeds) but they can't. Any fix to this?

I don't remember children ever being able to collect seeds.  It does seem like a bit of an oversight but then they couldn't really do anything with them if they were able to get them.

No, my kids have never been able to collect seeds, either.  It's too bad, they've got much more free time to do so than the older sims.

Oh OK, so I guess the writers of these guides I found (not Carl ;) ) have not been aware of the details, then. That's too bad, it would've been convenient to let the kids pick up seeds and bring them to their gardener mom. But as they can not train the gardener skill, it seems kind of logical for them not being able to pick up seeds, either. Thanks for the details. :)
