Simport Book Stamps
« on: March 08, 2012, 03:32:10 PM »
I was wondering if we have to get all the stamps in the same game to get all the unlockables. You have to be in a game before you can access your Simport book, so for example, if you have saved game A with a singer who has been on tour and has hosted another singer in the game, there would be those two stamps, but if you then went into saved game B with say a magician, when you go to the Simport book, would those two stamps be in that book or not?

I was thinking about this last night, but I can't check it for myself yet because, I didn't get a stamp when my acrobat went on tour.  :(

I suspect Simport stamps work in much the same way as achievements/badges.  Those are associated with your account and not with any particular game so once you achieve them in one game they appear as complete in any other game you open or start.  This is just speculation on my part, though, as I have not gotten my first stamp yet.

Also, I noticed when I sent my singer on tour last night that she didn't get a stamp right away when she returned.  I got some pop up message saying that my friend would have to provide some kind of review before the stamp and goodies would be distributed (I assume that means that the other person has to log in to the game for the transaction to complete.)  If that's the case then you may still get a stamp when you log in next time.

I think the reason I didn't get the stamp was because when I went to send her it saves the game and I actually got an error code 12 and was unable to save it. She still went on tour, but I think it may have glitched.

I'm hoping that the stamps do carry from one game to another because if they don't, it would probably also mean that the unlockables would only work in that particular game.

You actually get the stamp when you send the sim AND the person  who you sent the sim to has accepted the sim for the tour. An example...I sent my sim to my sister's game the other day. I was experimenting with simport's features and hadn't read up on the features yet. Soooo she wasn't playing sims at that point so while my sim was greyed out "on tour" I didn't get a stamp since my sister wasn't online to accept the tour on her game.

Yes, I know that you need the host to finalize things before you get a stamp, but my Sim returned from the gig, got a review and still didn't get a stamp! Doesn't really bother me, that was just a test file anyway and since then, I have gotten two stamps and answered my own question about them carrying over. I just started a fresh game in Sunset Valley with one of my old Sims and went into the Simport book and my two stamps are there, so they do carry over from game to game  ;D
