Relationship with Daughter
« on: April 18, 2010, 02:16:11 AM »
My Sims has a daughter. However, their relationship never improved.
On the other hand, other family members have improved their relationship with the baby once they take care of her.
Is this caused by incompatiable traits? Or other reason?
Now I realize playing the Sims 3 on Mac is playing the game of installation and uninstallation...

Is the daughter a toddler?  The relationships increase with toddlers by doing things with them.  Teaching to walk, talk, and potty will increase the relationship.  Also, playing with the toddler on the xylaphone and peg box is good.  Reading the toddler books will also increase relationship.  Tending their needs doesn't always do much for the relationship, especially if the toddler is really tired or in a bad mood.  I don't really think it's a problem with traits, but you could list them here and we can take a look.

I had that when the kid was a baby but both parents shared in teaching the toddlers skills so they ended up with quite high relationships! Sometimes the baby was born as a friend to its mother...

I have a glitch in my game where the child, as an infant, never grows a relationship with its mother.  The bar just won't move.  The infant does, and has gotten to be friends with the father before it has aged up so the problem lies with the mother...and has happened on many occasions, no matter what neighborhood I'm in.  So, the infant only stays that way for about 24 hrs before I age it to a toddler where the relationship grows like it should.

It's really no big deal to me as the infants don't really do much anyway.  Maybe that's what has happened in your game. (?)

Sorry to suggest it, but if you're having a difficulty in raising that relationship bshag, maybe a cheat is in place? If you have 'testingcheatsenabled true' on you can raise and lower the relationship bar to your liking without having to age up the infant. Just saying... ::)

I tried that and it didn't work, must be doing something wrong.

Thanks all. My sim's daughter is still a baby. However, her relationship with other household members are all "friend" except her mother, "Acquainatance".
Does it due to her mother hadn't complete the Charisma Challenges - Celebrity?

Sometimes it takes a while to start working sometimes interacting with someone helps or maybe just letting the game play on a bit. You then just click and hold and drag the relationship.  ;)

Some parts of testingcheatsenabled is only available if you write it in the main menu and then load a game; I think this was one of those features. (It's possible also that it works if you load a game from another game after you've enabled the cheat).

Now that Swede is how you use the +500 LTHP method!  ;D

But you don't have to re-load to menu for the raising needs and relationships part. Well I never have...  :)

Neither have I Samoht! The only thing you have to do it for on main menu is the LTHP! All others work if you do it from in game.

The first moment I've saw the title of this topic I thought you where talking about a love relationship between a parent and the daughter! :$ I'm so glad I've read that wrong.

But I had this once to I believe. Eventually it solves itself when the little one grows up, but hmm, I don't know how you could fix this another way.

A topic like that wouldn't be allowed here.  :)
