Animals and pets in Showtime?

I added my favorite sim and her puppy to the Showtime town, but I have only seen one raccoon in town. Is there some way to get stray animals to spawn? I like the town and want to be a magician, but I also want to be able to combine the Pets features in it. Am I missing something?

I had strays come to my house and I've seen other townies adopt pets and have pets for adoption so it works.  You probably just have to wait for it to spawn them.

Did they have to put an adoption community lot in the town for adoption or to spawn them? I have played for several sim days and not seen anything but that pesky raccoon that wants to turn over my garbage can.

I was able to adopt on my first day in Starlight Shores. I was able to pick up birds behind the diner and Charlie Ray Buckshot held an adoption on the third day of play.   I didn't do anything to the town other than make a toon and start playing.

You were right...I just needed to give it time. I have animals around town now.YAY!!  Thanks for the input.

Stamper is probably talking about the neighbors that are giving away animals for adoption. They have that little orange map tag with the clipboard icon on it. I have the limited edition so they could also be talking about possibly the pet store lot that came with it? However you can't really buy animals, just some extra supplies that isn't in buy mode.

I also had the wild horse herd come to the park during my acrobat's performance. It was really funny. All the sims were watching the show and out of no where came the horses galloping through the crowd! They didn't even slow down, they just ran right through everybody. Then they circled the back of the stage and kept coming around to run through, they did it about 3-4 times until the performance was done. I don't know if it was because they didn't like the crowd in their park or if it was because they liked the performance!
