Invisible Insects?

I'm on a mission in China and trying to collect red assassin bugs for a local, but I can't find them.  I click on the map tags to get to the locations, but even when I zoom in as close as possible I can't see the bugs.  The collection helper shows the bright spots where they should be, but when I turn it off they fade with no sign of the bugs.  My gaming laptop isn't connected to the internet, so I can't download a patch the regular way.  Help!

Can I just say -  You need to run the game on play, they crawl... So if you are looking with pause you won't see any. That's what I find anyway.

I also can never find the insects by clicking on the location from map view.  I just have to make my sim go to the location, then the insects appear.

Because you have to press play to get them to move
