There is only a hand full of LTWs in the whole city which cracks me up. 

I would like to mention that I love the new vanities.  They are a mirror and a dresser so they can do both sets of interactions.  You can change appearance and plan outfit with the same item.

That's sweet.  And I find it interesting how many sims wnat to be professional authors, have no writing skill, and are in jobs at start that don't help with writing, like level 10 singer.

To me this just means if I ever played such person, his first 10,000 LTHP would go to changing his LTW to Vocal Legend for instant fulfillment.

Just started playing. The new town crashed 3 times before I got to save. On the third time, it just stopped playing, but the animations were still going (spinning plumbob, sleeping z's). Normally that's only for a few seconds, but I let it go for 10 minutes this time, and it never resumed and I couldn't click anything. But you know, I'm okay with this. The new town is not impressive at all to me. It seems positively tiny! I may be the only person who thinks that, but I'm going to completely pass on playing this town again. Oh, and when I tried to get my singer a career, only magician and acrobat were in the newspaper and computer.

I've only poked around at it a little bit so far, but I think the new town is awesome (there's finally a 2 bedroom house that a single starting sim can afford to buy!), and so far I'm enjoying it as much as I thought I would.

I'll add further impressions as I get deeper into it.

Ok I just had the same thing happen to me.   It just stayed there like that forever.  I also had a singer that couldn't get a singing career but I hadn't really gotten past the first day.  I like the town but I wish I could tell whether or not this is going to be a constant.

Hm, I wonder if this is going to be a normal glitch? But when I moved my sim to a different town, the singer career was in the newspaper. I guess it varies from day to day. I wish all three were automatically in the paper, though. With the other professions, you can learn the skill then sign up at the town hall, no problem. But with these new professions, you just have to wait for it to come up in the paper/computer.

That's because there is no skill associated with the new careers. 

The freezing thing happened again!  It's 2 am on the dot every time.  Was that when it was for you too?  Do you have any mods running?

Most EA towns except SV seem small to me.  I love the look and feel of AP, for example, but there isn't enough room there to put all the different kinds of venues there that I would want for a long term game like a dynasty or legacy.  I'm excited to explore SS, though.  I've seen a few pics and it looks like there are some nice new houses along with all the new venues associated with the EP.
