Is a Money mod available? (not adding money)
« on: March 05, 2012, 07:43:40 AM »
For a long time I've thought the game made making money way too easy, (the bills, for example are never that high), so is there a mod around that enables one to alter money given for jobs, bills etc?

I found one on MTS that gives you harder bills. It hasn't been updated to the most recent patch (It's still at 1.26) but I think it should be fine. << Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but usually script mods are okay right?

Yes, script mods are generally safer than core mods.

This is not a script mod, but an XML mod. However, I've checked the game files and the 1.22 mods are compatible with 1.31, as that XML file has not been altered. They are perfectly safe to use. Similarly, Anach's Higher Bills mod is also compatible with 1.31.

ETA: Anach has more mods that make things more expensive, thus making money tighter in the game. I haven't checked them all for compatibility as I don't use them, but if you want I can check whichever you're interested in.

twallan's mods make it so you have to pay more for things, even a daily vacation fee, a boarding school fee (if you have his mod for different "private" schools).  You can set it up that your Sims have to pay child support (for children not living at home) etc.  But I don't think you can change how much you specifically get paid for rabbit hole jobs.

Thanks for the help guys. I will have to have a look around. Modding makes the game so much better. Especially when you consider just how many game-breaking bugs there are. Now if only EA focused on actually fixing some of them instead of constantly releasing new expansions.... pie in the sky?

I have given my sims money through cheat codes at the start of a game to make it easier to get them established into career etc. I would like a mod that makes sim return loan as we do in real life. Thanks in case some one knows of a mod for this

In one of Twallan's mods, either MC or SP, you can click on the business center and get a simolean loan that you have to pay back.

It's Story Progression Expanded. But you can also get Digitalchaos' Global Online Banking Mod.

My solution for you is not exactly a mod, but it could be the answer for some of your problems: my sims have to pay around 31.000 simdollars every three days for owning a overlarged mansion. So if your sims are rich, build big, have a lot of items (if your computer agreed) and try to make up with that.

I agreed about the money issue; I would love to see a difficulty setting in this game. Like playing sim on master will tricker things like real estate taxes, burial insurances, children's contribution and child benefit and more of those things. Two earniers need to pay more taxes and so on.
