I’m not sure what’s going on but I think the link is broken… :'(

I went to the link before step 1 and I couldn’t even complete that step because there was no separate patches, only regional patches for the base game. I apparently need to patch WA because the game won’t launch as it said it needed the update.

“You ought to upgrade to Windows 7!”, they said. “It’ll help your games run so much better!”, they said. If I see them again, then they had better know how to stabilize an on-the-fritz copy of The Sims 3 that was working just fine on Windows XP.

I hate to say this but how horrible would you feel to need to uninstall everything but base game?   Another way to get these patches would be to uninstall back to base game and then install in release order so World Adventures first.  After WA installed, you would need to load the launcher and it would update to the new patch for you.

Perhaps as horrible as if I corrupted Windows. X(

I digitally download everything. I think I remember finding a thread on backing up and restoring the games, but I don’t have the original installers. Brilliant.

EDIT: I feel I should add that I have every expansion up to Supernatural, excluding Showtime. Now you see why I dread it so. Too bad you can’t order hard copies of games with your registration code.

EDIT 2: So I finally said “Screw it!” and uninstalled the base game and expansion packs. Hopefully I’ll have a fully-functional, fully-patched Sims 3 game within 18 hours.

Recently, I note that EA announced "As of base game update 1.22.9 or later, players no longer need to update their expansions and stuff packs.". The link is as following:

https://help.ea.com/article/problems-patching-the-sims-3

I'm going to completely reinstall my game. However, update for expansion/stuff packs is still available once I opened the game launcher. Does anyone has idea about this?
Now I realize playing the Sims 3 on Mac is playing the game of installation and uninstallation...

You’ll need to reinstall all the expansion packs you have in the order they were released. Run the game after each one finishes to patch them, because patches for expansions aren’t included for whatever reason in the SuperPatch from the page you mentioned. Double-check every time and make sure the game works every single time, otherwise you may need to reinstall everything again. Be especially careful on digital downloads, because those can take ages to complete!

I learned from experience. Let you not know this experience that I speak of…

I found this Patch Downloader very helpful when I recently did a complete uninstall/reinstall.

I'm so glad for that patch downloader! The original link to the individual patches on simsprograms on this thread no longer seems to work - it now only goes to an overall patch, and I can't find individual patches on their new site (now called beyondsims). So I'm using the patch downloader instead and so far it seems to be going well! :)

I just used this myself, and it works great! I'll add it to the main page.
