How to get outstanding Research metric in Medical career?

I have figured out that when I click my sim it says 'try new experiment' when I keep my sim up-to-date on those experiments and i keep up-to-date on her medical journals, my sim's research goes all the way up. It takes a while, but if you keep it up, it goes all the way to the face. Hope this helps someone!!

I found a way to do this if you own the ambitions expansion pack. At some times you will get opportunities to do some job away from the home lot, giving you the new medical diary. Being a bookwurm enables you to read the book - after completing the job - fast enough to be able to increase the stat before going to work again the same day. However, the time you are reading the book, drops the work performance a little (because you're not at work), so that your chances of getting promoted are decreased a little, but when you go back to the rabbithole, your research stat may be outstanding.
