How to restore a save that is gone but still has a folder.

I got a error 12 when I tried to save I deleted the bad folder but my backup is still there but the in game family is not. The game froze up and cut off, but when I tried to go back the save was gone.

I was in Egypt and I wanted to save the game, so all of my work would be saved. I wanna explore all the tombs in every country. I was trying to save and a error code 12 message popped up. I never end my playing day in a vacation destination because of the chance of the save corrupting and me losing all of the stuff I have have gotten. I looked for some answers as to what was happening because I didn't want to lose all the effort I had put in. The game crashed and when I turned it back on mere moments later, my save was gone, my Sims lived in Sunset Valley on the save. There was no Sunset Valley family on the main menu screen. Is this a better description of my problem? I'm sorry if my first post was confusing I was shocked and confused as to what had happened. The first sign was buy mode was black and I couldn't see anything except the categories and some of the other buttons, it's normally blue to me. I has to use F1 to even get to live mode again. I couldn't see the live mode button, thank you for the link.
