I don't have the heart to kill my sims. I think my username explains it lol! I'm a real softy, can't even watch horror or war movies. So no hunger games for me ever. ::)

I'm completely the same as YOU!  8) ;D

WHOA!! You guys are that scared? Let's shift to a new perspective:

What if it was a sim you didn't like? Hate with a deep passion? I mean, I HAD to kill a sim I love (by love, I'm considering putting his pic as my avatar and a caption saying" _____'s #1 Fan". because I didn't want him to be an elder. Lame, I know.

But I have no problem torturing and killing ugly sims. Like the Bunch Family.

In my case, I really hate the paparazzies so just use the cheat keys and let them old and die. That's it. Or for the Bunch Family case, just go Edit Town and remove them from the map. This is my way of killing sims in my game.

I have no problem with:
-Working Friends  Household
-Gobias Koffi
-Bunches
-Wainwrights
-Amy Bull (TB)
-Paparazzi
-Roomies household
-Claire Ursine
-Frio brothers
-Hart household

How about removing them from the map in Edit Town mode than killing?

Oh my gosh, Working Friends?  Emma and Blair are my two favorite girls in SV!!  Just recently Blair has produced some gorgeous grandkids.  She's a teenager now, and utterly stunning.

I usually hate Jared Frio, VJ Alvi, Nick Alto, Tamara Donor and Jamie Jolina are crazy at love. Also I don't like Cornelia Goth is grumpy too often. Emma and Blair are really good! :)

There is that option but sometimes it keeps me interested in the game. I have Sims that I'm quite attached to and I would hate to see them go up in flames but I'm also a true crime/mystery/detective story fan and I've been know to play a game or two in that genre.

I don't think anyone is scared about killing off sims, it is more that killing sims does not add to my enjoyment of the game.  In fact it would distress me to intentionally cause a sim to suffer or die, so I just don't do it.  I also have yet to find a premade sim that I hate, although there are a few that I dislike, but that isn't enough reason for me to harm them.

Perhaps I am at one extreme in that, since TS3 reflects many real life situations, I allow my real life values to govern my game play.  This isn't good or bad, right or wrong, it's just how I get the most fun from playing.

In my other video game addiction, World of Warcraft, I have no problem killing off mobs because that is the premise of that game and there are rewards for doing so.  I suspend my values in favor of the game's values.  TS3 has no inherent value system, though, so it is up to each player to decide how to play.

@Katluvr

I don't play any other games though. (other than occupy my mind kind of games on my DS) Just have never been interested. I guess that's why I allow for all kinds of situations in my Sims games. I play homeless Sims, sometimes evil Sims and then there is always the generic regular game. I just get really bored with boy meets girl, gets married, raises a family and achieves lifetime wish.  I've explored tombs, maxed out skills, gotten to the top of professions but at some point I get tired of bright, shiny, new, rich, item laden Sim houses. Even watching re-runs of TV shows or watching movies  more than a time or two is boring for me.  I'm just a been there, done that, what's next kind of person.

I completely get where you're coming from.  Maybe it's just that I haven't played long enough to get bored and delve into other forms of game play.  Please don't think that my explanation of how and why I play the way I do is in any way a judgment of how other people play.  Each of us plays TS3 in ways that satisfy our needs and all ways of playing are equally valid.

Oh, and I just remembered I did try to harm a sim once...I tried to get her cursed by a mummy.   ;D

I didn't think you were making judgements. That's one thing I really love about this forum. People can carry on a discussion with differing points of view and it stays civil.  If you post a differing opinion over at the official forum more likely than not it's turns into a real screaming match.

Every once in a while I'll end up with a Sim I really can't stand. I don't kill them off, that's too easy.  I make them live miserable painful lives until they eventually die of natural causes <insert evil laughter>.  Other than those instances, I do tend to get a little attached to my Sims and therefore bummed out when one of my Sims dies accidently :'( (which I try to be really careful about now) - I usually have so many plans and ideas for their lives that I'll have to take a break from playing for a while to get over it before I can move on to someone else.
Once in a while my boyfriend will want to see me kill one for his own amusement - I still find killing Zombies (as someone mentioned earlier) a lot funner and more interesting then killing off Sims...

I have to say one of the things I really enjoy is Grim. Not because of his purpose to carry off the Sim, but because of the things he does. I've actually laughed out loud over some of the unusual things he does.  Well, unusual for what you would expect from the Reaper.

Hmm, well the "killing sims" distresses me. I have high stress issues (discovered two weeks ago) and it's helpful.  :)

Personally, my play style isn't frigid (the same style, i.e. same rituals happening in each gaming file), but i'm for one not a sadist. For me, it's just a break and relief from real life. When it comes to simming, you can note that i'm no "E Rated Gamer". I have feelings for sims too, unlike those who think it's just a game. But this only applies to the sims I actually like.
