Gardening Guide Addition--"Wild" Plants
« on: April 10, 2010, 09:17:40 PM »
Carl, could you add the types and locations of harvestable plants growing in the neighborhoods?  In Sunset Valley I've found peppers, lettuce, and onions near the warehouse, limes and apples in the park, and limes and watermelons along the small beach, but I'm sure there's others in other places (maybe other Sims' gardens?  If they don't get mad at your Sim for harvesting their plants, that is).  The collection helper only shows seeds, not harvestable plants, and sometimes I want my Sims to have fresh produce to eat/sell/plant.

Welcome to the Forum!

That's a good idea for an addition to the Guide.  I'll make sure Carl sees this post.

There is also tomatoes/lettuce around the small pond at pinacle point in Sunset.

I just talked to Carl and we decided that I'm going to take on this project.  I'll be making a list of the various wild plants and their locations.  I'll post the list here and ask for input on anything I've missed.  Does that sound good?

That sounds great!  I harvested produce from two different gardens and didn't get any reaction, even when the owners were right there, so please include the private gardens as well as the public plants.

But you can't use those omni plants. They're unfeedable, at least for me.

Well, my Sim can feed the plant. Even my Sim who hasn't completed the omniplant opportunity can. It's just that I've never harvested produce, and never hanged around enough to see a harvestable state of growth.

Swede have you checked its diet? You have to do that before you can feed it...  :)

Thanks! That's probably why I've never bothered with them if only that option came up. ::)
Sorry for the misinformation everybody! :-[

Good stuff. I'm sure someone else has wondered, so I'll try to mention that in the gardening guide.
