Keep trying. That one can be difficult to get. The trick I found is not to finish the Dragon cave and I've even avoided it sometimes, because you'll need the Axe in there. Try not to let too many sim days pass between visits.

Shang Simla: townies and landscaping/architecture. I'm really into the Asian culture, so..
Al Simhara: tombs and pyramids
Champs Les Sims: nectary.

I tend to have loud opinions. So sorry. I got tons of issues, lol. I can also be found on Yahoo! Answers.

My preference order is:

1. China. If collecting is not your forte, then open up the bookcases at the base camp when you arrive (there are two) and select "take all" to get them. Also put the stereo in your inventory. Sell them all once you get home to get around $20,000. They have no value in China, but when home, they can be up to $2,000 each!
2. France. Simply because it's a visually appealing country. I like countries like that. ;D
3. Egypt. When I do get there, it's only to get the Eyes of Horus (allow you to teleport between the two).

If your a collector, all help you with the Relic Collections. My sim got All the Relic Collections and then she bought the Art Museum and changed it to "The Mandu Art and History Museum" and had her own paintings and her collections. She made a lot of money from people visiting it.

^I Love that trick with the bookcase!  Saves me a ton of $ since I like to collect all of the books for future generations.  But I didn't realize I could take the Stereo too!  ;D
My favorite part about all of the Worlds is how much $$ you can make every time you travel!  Pangu's Axe is definately a 1st stop Must-Have for anyone looking to Adventure (saves a lot of backtracking once you get it).  And pretty much everything else everyone else said too!  8)  World Adventures was probably one of my favorite expansions (before Pets - maybe).  I love filling my home with booty from all the locations showing off my Sims' travels!

Best part is, I didn't realize I could get rid of that stereo.  There is nothing worse than sitting down in the base camp to eat when it's filled with locals, and one of them turns on the radio and then everyone wants to dance with my Sim.  I'm usually traveling for a reason, and that reason is not to attend a dance party with people I don't know.  Let me just eat my breakfast already...

I often turn it on and off repeatedly until it breaks.
